Can a computer in future simulate the human brain to arbitrary precision or will it be able to think using any form of reasoning a human mind can employ?

Doesn't it now??? Or at least people, employers, etc. think it does. I still hold that the computer is only as smart as the person programming it. But Yes I do think in the future, that is already here, the computer is going to 'take over'. Look at all the things that are already done with a computer. Many jobs have already been replaced. Sometimes I wonder though if a human doing the job wouldn't be better and more precise with things.

Please consider human brain is equivalent to 2000 computers connected in series.

Me and computers dont get along to well. I have spoted mistakes that were made with the computer but wow try arguing with a company that uses one and you can't make sense with them because it isn't on the computer.

Well its like asking too much at least for now, computers can simulate only certain functions of the brain, but cannot actually become like a human brain, the topic is way too complex and quite futuristic. But who knows one day it may come true. Be careful what you wish for it might come true. If what you think happens, there will be a total war between Humans and computers ....like in the movie terminator....
I seriously feel you get the cd's of terminator and have a happy sunday.

this technology is known as artificial intelligence and is being developed. in future computers of this kind will be build and i am sure the future is near !!

Hi,
Well to some extent yes, but no matter how we try, it will never be able to simulate the instinct of a human mind. Regarding intelligence it can even excel human brains. If you feed instructions and data it can do amazing things. It will still depend on the programming. It is totally void of emotions and only work based on factual information. But we know fully well that it is not only the factual information that makes us take a decision. Several other things happen inside a human brain. It is lot more complicated than computers. The only thing that limits a human brain is its biological capacity.
Thanks
God bless you

Maybe. We dont know, but probably yes because there are many medical gadgets now for aid in people with disabilities that proof biology can communicate with electronics.
I think its more on research, studies and clinical trials of scientist for making
brain and electronics, like computer, can communicate well, and maybe it can transfer
files from your brain to computer and or vice versa.weird huh !

May be because science already developed at level that a normal cannot think about it. Computer is already can do tasks that a human cannot do in entire life. But it takes much time to develop at that level. Computer is grater and too powerful than human's brain because its not developed within one brain but through many human's brain. So computer is too complicated and powerful than human's brain. Its already too hard to understand this kind of new technology for some humans.

Maybe it can in the future. But it'll cost huge amount of power. Human brains costs only 15W, but a personal computer now costs 200-400W. I can't imagine how to support a computer as complex as brain.
Maybe we can get the goal through other ways, like photonic or biological, but can it be called computer then?
