Have you ever received an award for anything?

If so, how did it feel? What was it for? Have you won an awards since then?
I've never won an award before, sadly=( I've never really been the type to go out and do stuff. So that's why I'm always encouraging my own kids to go out for stuff that they want and to just try anything. (Of course, not anything illegal!)
I wish that I could win an award for something. But how is a 36 year old who's unhealthy and out of shape going to win anything? I barely know people, and I avoid going out places.....
So what about you? What have you been successful in enough to win an award?
Would you say that it was the best time of your life?

Hi egronilo: I thinbk that winning the employe of the month award must be a very satisfying experience specially because this means that your work is being well received by your boss and that people value your efforts and they think are important for the good of the place you are working on. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.

I've never won or having an award like medal as well since I am not that academically intelligent and yet I am not that active in sports. I am still dreaming to have a medal or won something because I've achieved something big. I know this is just a material that you can't bring when you die but of course I want to experience of having a medal because of the things you've done like for example just because of being a 3 dimensional artist or because of the sports.

When I was 6 years old, I won a competition in Recitation of poems. And so many recitation awards in Sunday School Meets when I was young. And one time, the youth association of my area gave me a recognition award for donating blood - well, that is just to encourage youngsters to donate blood, but still.....
Oh, and I was given congratulatory certificate for getting first class in my graduation from one association that I was a member of, and another one for my Masters. I can't remember any other thing.
The above probably are not what you would call an award as such, but well, I took pride in them.

For me awards are only a display of superiority, some people say award is pride but for me its nonsense, I think it depends to a person who perform his task. For now the true and best award for me is Jesus Christ, since the day I know who He is, my day become complete, because He is the true God who can save the humanity. God bless you.

My heartiest congratulations to you for winning a great award. You are a mummy and you are bringing up your children in best possible manner. What could be a better award than this.
However, I must say that what you are lacking is self-confidence. You can do great many things. Do not be disappointed if you are 36 or not in good health which you can easliy recover.
What about cooking? Learn it from the internet and give your family delicious food. Slowly and gradually, your cooking skill would pread around and who knows, by God's grace, you could become a great 'Chef' in the eyes of your neigbours.
Best Wishes

Its really nice that you encourage your kids.I did get award for modern dance in my college days. But i never took professional training. But now i am 32 i too am out of shape but i am taking training for various type of dance forms. Its never too late dont underestimate yourself.Go out and explore yourself and do what you really like to.The best time for me would be to give my daughter the best so that she can get many awards.

Oh yes, when I was younger, I always win the chess competition in our community, they sent me to other Community to play chess and luckily, if not the first, second! Even in my Elementary and Secondary, I played with other schools and beat them! Maybe I can say that it's one of the best times in my life because looking at the medals that I received, I know that I did my best and I made it!
But the best award that I received was when I passed the board exam. It's an award for my family and for myself. I really studied hard and worked on it because I know it would be a gate pass for me to step up and reach my star!!!

Hi Shadow of Hope: I think you can stilll win an award for something just look for the things you know well or look for a competition where you have the abilities to participate. In my case, I have won an award for being one of the best students of my promotion back in 2004 it was amazing for me. I have the award in my room. Thanks for asking us this question. Have a nice day.

Good day to you ShadowofHope2010,
With regard to your main question, yes, I already received an award. That is when, I won a Second Placer in a Slogan Contest. However, it was happened a very long time ago. During that time, I was very happy then, because it was my first time to won.

I decided to go to college when I was well over "college age".
The professors loved us "non-traditinal" students, because we were there to learn instead of party. I worked hard to get good grades, and it paid off by allowing me to gradutate with Highest Honors. I got an award, a medal for it, and I still have it. It means a lot to me, and I will always treasure it.
It shows that you are never too old to learn and make changes in your life. It enabeled me to secure a job that I absolutely loved and kept until I became unable to work. It was the best time of my life.
