It's first day of school here in the Philippines for students in the primary and secondary. Students here in the school where I work are excited in meeting new friends and teachers, or not???
Well, I remembered when I was a student then, it was our first day of school and I was excited then that I entered the classroom so early that I noticed the other students were different. I was expecting to see familiar faces since we are moving into a new level with my past classmates. What I didn't realize was that I was supposed to go into a new classroom and not my old classroom.
That was so stupid of me!
Have you been into first-day-of-school stupidity before?

First day of school??? IT's the school holidays now over here!! lol =D
I have always like school holidays when i'm a student.. It allows me to have lots of free time, doing nothing, except for play, and going movie, eating, hanging out with my friends.. lol =D And all those homework, projects, simply gave us more time to be out of the house, using it as reasons, when we actually done nothing. lol =D
BUt when it comes to start of school again, it's gonna be bored again, but one thing different, and much luckier than u, our classroom has always been the same.. hehe

We are in different country so we have different school days.. Well, I love vacations too. Even if I'm not a student here, I'm bored at my work in school. lol
What's keeping the enjoyment for me here are the wonderful students that keeps interests in everything that I teach them.

LOL! that happened to me when I was at 2nd year of college. Since our sections are grouped as a block, I also expected familiar faces, I still went inside knowing that I am late. Guess what? It is our examination week and they are all looking at me. I looked around and I was like, what are you all looking at then I looked them again carefully like, wait, who are you guys .
What I did is I pretended that I am looking for something under a chair and walked out. When I was out of the class, I took a deep breath and ran down of the building to see what room am I going to LOL! It wasn't the first day but your story reminds me of my stupidity that day

it's first day of school and i haven't enrolled any subject yet. this afternoon i went to our college but as i was looking into the reg card, i realized it wasn't the last reg card i had. to enroll i have to bring last sem's reg card but what i brought along was last 1st sem's reg card. school's almost 2 hours away from home and i arrived there by 3pm. registrar's office is open till 5pm only. so right after realizing i brought the wrong reg, i've gone back home right away.

2 hours from home is near? not in here. every class lasts for only an hour (although it's 3 days a week) so if i have 3 subjects everyday, my travel hours (4 hours back and forth) is longer than my classes. i'm in college so i can enroll as many or as few subjects as i want to.^_~ so as a result i got home and just return the following day (that's this afternoon). since registrar's office is only available till 5pm. but this afternoon i was successful listing myself to 5 subjects/classes.^_^

In all my days as a student, I haven't had any first day of school blunder. I did have a few in the middle of the school year though. Not at all major. I was like 30 minutes late for class. I was practically dashing out of the LRT, running down legarda station. Rode a motorized pedicab to UST because I can't afford to wait for the lealtad jeepneys to wait for more passengers. I ran out of the pedicab, ran through all 5 floors of the engineering building. I peeked at the door and saw that there was a different class inside. totally not my classmates. I brought out my registration form (mind you, we were half-way through the 2nd semester and I know that I've memorized my schedule). I was so shocked that my classmates were missing. I was cursing because I didn't have load to text my friends and they weren't bothering to text me. I went down a floor and entered the org room. I settled myself and then saw the clock that I was like 30 minutes early. I can't believe it. I accidentally set my cellphone time, 30 minutes in advance! Can you imagine all the trouble, running and anxiety I went through? HAHA.

i would have studied in UST but knowing it's always flooding there every single time of the rainy season, i decided to move to my old school instead, which the transport is a lot easier access.
but that's good setting yourself in advance time, you hassle yourself to be earlyhonestly, i am the one who prefer being an hour early so that i can sleep during lame hours.

Being early is really useful knight. You have more time to settle down before going in for the stress inside the classroom. If you are late or just there on time then your mind isn't settled yet for the class because you're still tired from getting there on time.

I am always anxious during the first day of school. I need to socialize again because there would be unfamiliar faces inside the classroom. However, in the long run, we tend to socialize and meet friends. I am looking forward in meeting mew friends.

YEah, first day, new faces, new friends, new enemies, lol! I've passed my student's life and I'm a teacher now but still new encounters are endless. I expect for old students to be with me on classes and expect more rowdiness in the classroom. Although I'm wanting to study in the next breaks for my masteral units.

Hello basqui,
First day of school has always been a nervous one for me. and i can only stop being nervous when i got along with some other classmates of mine. when i was in highschool, i was always tense, except when i reach third and fourth year because i get the chance to have cool friends and no bullies. back in elementary, i was never excited going to school because of bullies

Oh, bullies prey on small students. I was a small student back when I was in secondary school compared to others but I wasn't bullied because they need me. They need me in exams lol.
It's good that there are less bullies in the school where I'm working now and such cases are settled accordingly by the teachers.

Yes, I remember one time it's the start of a semester and I'm excited to meet my students on the first day of classes, and without checking well my room number, I entered another room. When I started roll calling the names nobody was responding. Their I found out that I stupidly entered another class. I gracefully went out from that room and try to hide my embarrassment.
Well, for teachers and students, this incident usually happens by accident and we can only avoid it by having presence of mind and checking first your schedules before entering inside the classroom.

I was so scared because the CR was known as a Haunted CR..I was crying for help, but my classmates were just laughing...wew! So SAD first day of Class...:(

I did something really similar my first day of first grade. All the classrooms opened into a breezeway, and I went into one that I thought was right, but it was not and I was scared and embarrassed. I was six years old.

Being lost or being in a different classroom was my stupidity when I went to a universtity.
The first day of school is the most exciting for me for we want to see our old friends.

I am a bit stupid too since for being a freshman i enter the wrong room. I also make sure to follow all the rules but when i get past those freshman period then it just begin to become a law breaker. just small nastiness then later realize it done nothing good on me and then begun to become a law abiding students again. But in my own observation everyone is excited to go to school and when the everyday routines it becomes boring too. When what in the mind of the student most of the time is to wait for break time or recess time then going home.

Well I remember my first day in my high school I almost use all my school time just looking for my class room our school is really big and most of the student list in the front door was destroy and the other can't read because of drawings and vandalism, well that the reality in public school luckily I manage to see my old classmate and he tell me that we are in the same class and when I was get in our class room its full and I need to get a chair from other room just for me to have a comfortable hour in our room.
Its really not bad for me because its only an 1hr or less before the class is over.
that is one experience in my first day in school that I remember and now I am already graduate in college and don't need to go to school anymore.
I really miss my school days I always excited not because of the class but because of the money I get from my mom every time I go to school and with that I can play online games and Lan game with my classmate and friends.
LOL I not a good student and really don't have interest in studying I know that is not good but I can't help it. But even though I am not that interested in studying I still don't get low grades and I can still participate in our class thanks to my brain I think I have a good memory i terms of subjects and lessons.

I remembered screwing up my first course in College. I got addicted before in PC games and didn't bother going to my classes. I wasted my scolarship funds into games and lost my chance of free studies.
I got back on my feet and finished my course in another school. Now I'm happily working on my own.. student's life is really prone to bad vices and bad influences. It's really up to you to decide to get into these influences or get on doing good in school/

I don't remember committing anything silly on my first day at school before. I am a very conscious person so I make sure that I do everything as perfect as I can. Although I've made that mistake before of entering another classroom but it was somewhere in the middle of the school year. I just came from lunch break and was running a but late and our classroom is on the 4th floor. The classrooms in the science building all looked alike and I didn't realize that I was just on the 3rd floor. Since I was in a hurry I just opened the door and to my surprise, the teacher was staring at me and then everyone else followed. I bet my face was so red by the time my feet started to back out from the room. Good thing that my teacher was still not there when I got to our classroom so I had time to relax.
