I would like to have a business that is related to weddings. Maybe a one-stop-shop for brides, because getting married is such a tedious task, which stresses out the already stressed bride and groom to be. My brother is an excellent florist, I know someone who is an excellent baker. I'll look for good tailors for the gowns and other wedding attires. Maybe I'll look for a good place where the wedding and the reception can be held... I'll contact good photographers and videographers as well. Sigh. But this is still a dream. I'll need a huge, huge capital, which, at the moment I do not have. Do you have a dream business? What is still keeping you from doing it?

You can start realizing your dreams now. Write, write and write! Write like your life depended on it...and then, forward your articles to publishers. Don't get discouraged if you get rejections. That is part of it. JK Rowling's Harry Potter was rejected by some publishers, and look at its franchise now. Hope I'll be able to read your stories someday. May your dreams come true...

Work hard at it, and your dream might come true! I know a lot of people who do that, so it really is possible. You just need to be determined to reach that goal, and practice your writing in order to achieve that. Good luck, I hope you get there!

In addition, you can find sites here where you can publish your work for a fee. Why not try it for starters?

I want to have my own business also! I want to get into the marketing and image consulting firm business but unfortunately I have the wrong diploma. That's what is keeping me from it lols. But like you capital is the problem. And also, a little more years of experience would definitely help. Also, I do not have the time to plan and start it while I still have a day job. Anyway, sounds like you have half of the things intact already, so I guess just good luck with everything else! Your idea sounds really good, and I rarely say that. So seriously I really think you should pursue that. Maybe I can help out with you too! Very good idea so good luck to you I hope to see your wedding business surviving and thriving someday!

Lols you're right but I don't know much about the marketing consultancy business I think clients really need to see your credentials on the wall, but it's okay I'm sure I'll manage. Thanks! Hey, maybe I can go into business with your dad I love farming and gardening lol!

Well, we all gotta start from scratch sometimes, and build up your image based on that. Yeah, why don't I tell my dad. Oh, but, he's not much into profit nowadays, just a little to buy some food on the table, and more on to satisfy his love for the soil... :)

Thanks! I hope you could also find time to do your dream business. But, I understand, because I have a gull time job, too, so there's little time (and energy) to go through with the business. About the "wrong" diploma, maybe it won't be such a hindrance. My brother has a degree in Information Technology and my mom is a nurse, but, they sure are both good florists! Oh, and my dad has an accounting degree but he much prefers farming now (flowers, of course ;).

My dream business would be owning an amusement park. Obviously, there's no way I could get up money to do that. When I was a kid, I looked at Walt Disney and told myself that I would like to do what he does.

Keep on dreaming! Stranger things have happened. One day, you might just have the money to put up an amusement park! I have a relative who owns a big swimming resort, and I don't think he ever imagined that he'd own it someday, because he came from a poor family. It took a lot of effort and even if it took him a long time, the wait was all worth it. Hope I could visit your amusement park in the future! May your dreams come true...

I think my dream business would be to have my Costa Rican/Nicaraguan real estate investment website become my sole provider of income. I started living in Nosara, Costa Rica in November of 2006 and spent many years showing investors the potential of buying and selling real estate in Central America. I spent some of that time working as a project manager for a developer there and along with selling land I spoke with buyers about how they could build on their properties in an eco-friendly way using natural building materials and environmetal energy resources to help save them money and have their dream vacation home constructed with a low impact strategy.Due to the decline in the economy and the lack of investment over the last year, I decided to return home and spend more time working to educate people on the value of what is still there and the potential that Central America still offers for foreign investors like myself. If I could have any dream job it would be to return there and do the work I was doing for the rest of my life. If you are curious to know more about what is available in Nicaragua and Costa Rica, feel free to check out our website at www.fenway-properties.com or contact me at jason@fenway-properties.com. Pura vida.

That is nice. The world economy hasn't hit rock bottom yet, but, I hope it will get better in time. So, in a few years' (or months preferably), I hope you could get back to that business you really love. I'll check out your website, who knows, I might fall in love with Central America as well? It's great that foreign investors are welcome there. In our country, foreigners generally are not allowed to purchase real property. May your dreams come true (again) :)

I think many persons have their own dream business, and so do I. I want to put some special local products onto web to sale, even sale them abroad. But I do not know if someone will buy them, and I must spent much time on it. So I do not have enough confidence to carry it out. Do you have the same feeling like me?

Sometimes, I feel that way, too. I am not confident whether I'll be able to put up this business or not. But, I guess, part of putting up a business is taking risks. Your business idea is actually good. Given that a lot of people are now ordering items on-line, I think it would be a good business. Conduct a feasibility study and see whether you could have a good market for your local products. Who knows? I might even order something from you one day! May your dreams come true...

Yes, there are businesses where having a partner is advantageous because of the added capitalization. Also, there would be someone to consult with in times of decision making. However, you must really pick your partner especially if it involves big amounts of money. I agree about your family providing you not just material but also spiritual support. It gives us the courage to pursue our dreams knowing that someone is supporting us.

I agree with what you said. We must take some risks to make our dream come true, even give up our current environment. And sometimes we have to get our families' support, not only from material, but also from spirit. So considering these causes, some people can not make their dreams come ture.
Sometimes, I think if I have a bussiness partner to work with me, my dream will become true more easily.Do you agree with me?

Hotel Business! Yes, that is my dream business. I like to have a Hotel with good restaurant and a swimming pool. It should be a good joint for all business class people. Everybody should see it a decent place and love to come again and again.
Well, that needs a huge amount of money and I can't find it for investing.

When I graduated and entered in the work force, I realize this is not the field that makes us rich. Since then I am dreaming of having my own gasoline station. I would like to have that kind of business because I know that oil is always in demand in our country and different part of the country. I could earn much more and that way I will become rich. What makes me holding back of my dream business I am having hard time doing the business plan and feasibility study. There is a certain bank who will let you borrow money as long as you have a good business plan and feasibility study.

Gasoline business is really profitable, I think. I agree that being part of the workforce will not really make you rich because few companies give out really big salaries. Good luck on your business plan and feasibility study! May your dreams come true...

I am totally agree with you that gasoline business is the most profitable business and always in demand due to no feasible and reasonable substitution has been found for the moments. You can always search for a good location and submit the proposal to the respective bank for approval. Hope your dream comes true. Happy mylotting.

My dream business is to be a good developer. Now I can say that I'm an engineer but one day I'll build my own company. I think I have to start working hard and learn everything I could get from my job. I know that everything won't be so easy to reach the goal. But I believed 'If there is a will there must be a way to get it'.

Hello gloryacam,
That is a great idea a business to help brides prepare for their special day. I am not married but I've seen how frantic everything can get when things start to fall apart or things just don't go as planned. Excellent post.
As for me, my dream business is to own a non-profit organization that specializes in help teenage unwed mothers. It would be in a residential facility that will be able to accomodate 10 mothers and their kids between the ages of 15-21. Services such as daycare, recreational workers, psychologist, doctor's, and nurses will be staffed at the residence so the young ladies will have access to them during the day. It will be fully staffed with people who will assist in training the ladies on how to care for their babies as well as themselves, how to manage money, and will be provided with educators to get them through school. These individuals will be acquaintly trained to meet the needs of these young families in a safe, warm and nurturing environment until it is time for them to care for their families on their own. I just named a few things I would like to provide. There is so much more.
I feel it is my duty and obligation to do this because at fifteen I was a single mom with a little girl. I was blessed enough to find a place like the one I dream to operate one day. The place I was in wasn't perfect but laws have changed since then and I am confident that I can offer these young ladies guidance, support, and above all else security for their little ones.
To your Success!

Hi Erica! I wish there were a lot more people like you who have that sincere heart to help those who are really needful. I remember reading about a foundation in Vietnam that cater to unwed mothers who want to seek abortion. They try to convince the mothers to keep the baby, and when the child is born, they keep the baby, if the mothers really do not want to keep the baby. In their report, it is said that most of the time, the mothers have a change of heart once they see the baby, and take care of the baby on their own. It is such as sad story, especially in poor countries (such as mine) because teens are forced to grow up fast when they get pregnant early because their own parents have a whole of other problems to deal with. Most of these girls never go back to school. It is heartbreaking because these are the times that the young mother needs the most support being in an unusual and frightening situation. I hope that one day, you will be able to put up this organization, and I hope I can be of any help to you... May your dreams come true!

You know what? You can start with the convenience store! Even a small store will be enough. I have a cousin who put up her own store with not so much capital, and they had a hard time starting, but, it's been months since they've started and things are doing okay. As to the resort business, well, I also have relatives who own a resort business, and it really requires a big, big amount. But, nothing is impossible. My uncle started with his vegetable business (in the 70's) with just a few pesos in his pockets. May your dreams come true!

I would really like to be a clothing designer (but I do not feel like going back to school, because I already spent several years studying at university, and you need to have an education to do that kind of stuff) and have a store where I sell my own designs. If I cannot do that, I would also be happy to have a store where I sell any kind of clothing and accessories, since fashion is my no 1 hobby!

Fashion! I love fashion, too! Maybe you can still be a clothing designer even if you don't go back to school. (Some successful business do not have degrees but are successful at their business.) Besides, I think you'll have more creative designs if you don't go to design school, because you won't be limited by the "rules" like this color doesn't match this or this shape shouldn't go with this. If you really have the passion for it, go for it! May your dreams come true...
