how long can you stand for reading?

12 hours at most, with half an hour of ciggy break.

It really depends. Time indicates that most of the time I can only read for an hour at most and that is really only when I am going to bed. However, there have been times where I have read even more. I remember during the seventh or eighth grade, we had a read all day...well day. Therefore, that was about three hours straight after lunch. I managed that rather easily. Then again, when I read the last three Harry Potter books, I got them on the day that they came out. Basically, I shut off the Internet and began to read them, so I did not get spoiled. I think I read the fifth one in twelve hours with a couple of small breaks and then the other one in ten hours. Those are the longest that I have read a book and I doubt I could do that all that often.

On the very very rare occasions that I have the free time I can read for several hours...I've been an avid reader since I was a kid and now that I'm an adult with teens, a house, pets and so on to care for I dont have the time that I use to to sit down and enjoy a good book so when I get the chance I go for it..

I can read for hours and hours, but I don't often have lots of time to read these days, too much mylotting!!!

Hi Emine08, I can read for as long as my eyes can take. Sometimes if a book is that good, I bring it with me even when I need to go to the bathroom. As long as there is a good source of light and until my eyes are not yet strained, I won't stop until I'm done reading the book, only I choose books that are not that thick. Depending on the book's thickness, I can read up to 4 to 5 hours straight. Good day!

It would depend on whether im reading on the computer or an actual book (not ebooks) and if it is interesting or not. If im reading something on the computer even if its really interesting my eyes start getting tired after about an hour or two, but if its a book or newspaper I can read for about six hours or more until I get hungry.

I can read all day... if I actually have the time too. Which as a busy college student, I rarely do. I don't get why some people say that they can't read because they get headaches. I've never gotten a headache from reading. I think reading is great and if you were to choose to read all day instead of spend all day online, then you will have made a good choice.

I am a book worm and I usually never gets tired reading a book by my favorite authors however there are times when I have to read a book which I do not like to then after some thirty minutes I might get tired and bored to finish it, so I put it for later.

If I have a god book that I am engrossed in, I can read and read until I have finished the book. I have sat for hour after hour many a time just to do this!!

I too can read for as many hours as it takes to finish a good book if I have enough spare time set aside. I like nothing more on a wet, miserable day than to get my house work or other chores out of the way and then curl up with a good book and lose myself in it, stopping only to make a drink and sort out our pets and my hubby with food :) Don't often get days where that is possible so appreciate them even more when they do come along lol

I like reading very much.If the book is interesting,I can stand reading it for almost 3 hours.I know it's very bad for my eyes,so I wont do that again from now on.I have a friend who is very very fond of reading books,he said that he can stand reading for more than 10 hours!

I can read for hours and hours without any problems. I don't do it too often, but I can if I want to. I love reading, so it happens from time to time, especially if the book is really good!

I usually read for an hour, then I rest for a couple of Minutes. After my eyes have rested, then I will continue reading.
