how many of you still remember your teacher. My favourite teacher was my maths teacher. She was a nun. Very jovial. Always passed joks on us and made us laugh.
Very active. Whenever the people had personal problems they used to go directly to her to get help or advices. Now your turn. Write some thing about your favourite teacher.

well back in those days teacher got away with alot here in
the u.s.a. and now it's total diffent because it seem's
like to me that a teacher cannot snezze by a student or
there in trouble and the kids get away with a lot but we
were taught that you respected your elder no matter what
but the kids today just yell child abuse and they have no
respect for anyone and it is sad

What a Nice Topic !!
Brings back the old childhood memories of the time spent in school !!
Well !! My Favorite Teacher and almost of all my classmates was our Language Teacher!!
Gem of a Man !! He was the youngest of the teachers in our school ( He was 35 compared to others who were 40-45+ ) but the wisest of them all !!
He treated us with utmost respect a student should be given . Was very responsive , at the same time was very strict when it mattered .
We spent quality time together . He used to help us in our school work ,even after school hours .
Educated us with more knowledge about how to handle oneself in the soceity and a lot about other social elements ,
Was very helpful and even paid fees to one of my classmates who was a bit poor and also had lost his father !!
12 years have passed but I still remember him and we friends do meet him regularly whenever we get time !!
He has now become the Principal of my School and I envy the current set of students for getting not only a excellent teacher but also a wonderful human being and a Great Friend !!

The moment I saw this question , His name only propped up in my mind .
Good Teachers are always remembered not only for their teaching but also the way they conduct themselves towards the students and the way they instill good thoughts and confidence among their disciples .
Teaching is a very divine profession and My Language teacher was one of it.

Mine was my head of year, he covered many subjects and was very funny. He mainly teaches French and English, if it wasn't for him I wouldn't of picked up what languages I can speak. Well I can speak a few with basic sentences, enough to get by a visit and a good start if I moved to the countries.
I've tried tracking him down but it seems he's disappeared, makes it harder because my school as been knocked down.

My favourite teacher was my history teacher in High School (8th-10th). Sadly, he passed away a few years ago. He had his own way of making everything interesting. He added bits and pieces of his own experiences. I can't think of any student he taught who does not like him. I always hated history, but he made it fun.

I remember 2 teachers i like alot.
One was my 6th grade teacher. She was a very short lady. Alot of kids didnt like her. They all thought she was mean. I think she was wise. Once when 75% of the class played hooky because we didnt want to read reports standing up in front of the class. She surprized all us sick ones by having report day when we all got better the next day. Lol!!! I was one of the sick ones too.
Even more favorite was my 7th garde art teacher. She was kind of ecentric and kind of hippie like yet structured. Very creative. I really loved her bubbly personality.

My favorite teacher was Mrs. Mikesell. She taught 7th and 8th grade English and health. She was also class sponsor. Her only child, Harry, was in our class. Before the year was over, Harry was killed on the highway shortly after getting off the school buss. We all grieved for Harry and missed Mrs. Mikesell in the classroom. However, she didn't forget the class that Harry had been a part of. She came back the next year to sponsor our class and continued to sponsor our class through high school. She made sure that we did not lose touch with one another and sponsored a reunion each year as long as she was physically able. In case you are thinking that a reunion for a whole class would be too much for one person, there was a grand total of 18 in the graduating class.
I wonder if more students would graduate if the classes were smaller. We only had one person drop out, and he came back 4 years later, after spending a hitch in the navy, and graduated with my younger brother's class.

Ya, i definitely remember my favorite teacher. he taught me in 5th Standard. He was a cool teacher. The period used to get over very fast. We used to enjoy his teaching, but at the same time he was also strict with his teaching. But i had no problem with that as it helped us learn more and progress in life. I have never see such a teacher in my life in my whole career. Good that we got a chance to learn from him.

My favorite teacher was my English teacher and 6th grade adviser. She happens to become my boss too just a few months before she retired.
She's strict when it comes to discipline yet she was like a mother to us and always know how to keep things in a balance.

One of my favourite teachers was in the 5th grade, Joan Ashton.
She introduced the novel, Cry the Beloved Country, by Alan Paton which has some resonation now with the 2010 World Cup in progress.
Many more, but wanted to mention her, perhaps the first teacher who influenced me in a big way :)

Well, in elementary school my favorite teacher was in kindergarten. She made me feel so welcome. I was terribly shy. But even more special is the fact that she sends me a Christmas card every Christmas to this very day. That was 24 years ago, she lives states away from me now, and still she has kept track of me.

My favorite teacher was my fifth grade teacher, Mr. C. He was cool. He used to walk around with the bell bottom dress pants and stretching butterfly collared shirts open revealing his chest hair. UGH!YUK! That was 1980. He let us make our own decisions. He taught us about Italy. He was very italian. I remember every year the entire school would celebrate Flag Day with a big presentation with the school band, chorus, and then each class does a presentation for the flag. Mr. C let us use roller skates and carry flags around! It was the best out of all the classes! I just loved that guy. At the end of the year he announced he was leaving. I lost it! I was crying hysterically. SO much so that he called me at home to make sure I was ok. He then wrote me over the summer. I am literally in tears typing this. When I was working in the public school system I had the opportunity to see him again. He remembered me. Unfortunately a few months ago I received news that he had passed away. He was a true inspiration to what a teacher should be. Thanks for the discussion. dl

My favorite teachers in high school are my history and English teachers. My history teacher is now a vice principal in different school, my English teacher, unfortunately, passed away last year. My fave lecturer is also my history lecturer. He made us sit for 2 hours listening to his story, and we all can remember what he was talking about. He is such a good story teller. My translation lecturer is also one of the best. She is a professional translator and interpreter, speaks 3 European languages ( Her late husband was our former foreign minister during Soekarno`s era, who had to be detained for being allegedly involved in leftist activities after the failed coup in 1965).She explained everything in detail, she gave her students English newspaper, told us to read then translate it. After that, she checked our translation one by one, then gave correction.

Was I a bad student? I can't think of a teacher who I could say was my favorite back in the day when I was still a student. No matter how hard I try to remember, there is not one of them that I could say was a favorite of mine.
