'Why is it that when someone tells you that there’s billions of stars in the universe, you believe them.
But if they tell you there’s wet paint somewhere you have to touch it?'
someone asked me this after i got my fingers messed up with wet paint. well, there was no 'fresh paint' smell so i didn't believe the sign that was on the wall..so i just wanted to prove the sign wrong and see if the paint was dry enough already..
but i do notice that i'm not the only one who is like this. there are many others out there who simply don't believe what our family and friends tell us..but when we read it in the newspapers or magazine, or even see it on tv or see a photo, then it must be true.
why can't we simply believe what we're being told by our friends & family? or even that sign that says 'fragile, please do not touch'...but no..Mario and his itchy fingers just has to go and fiddle with that delicate crystal for a bit. just to make sure that it's really fragile.. and i found out the hard way how much that little darn thing actually costs
some of us choose what we want to believe. and some of us do some real weird things sometimes...or is it just me?

no wonder i feel alone sometimes
it was this little ship and it was all sparkly and very enticing.. i just had to see the little lines and designs that were on it. i really thought that it would bounce back up when it fell a few inches onto the table..

First of all I think you've been sniffing paint to much and you are used to the smell now, second its not like you can disprove that there are billions of stars in the universe, just outside at night thats just mainly the milky way. I think its just you you are still just a mischeivious child. Please just dont touch that crystal ball or you will be cursed for life! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

Some would say it is silly, nonsence or idotic thing! to try something that are aleady told not to do. But some would say it curisity to find what will happen, to prove others are wrong.
It can be touching the wet paint or crystal grass or to find if gost really exisit. In my childhood myself, my younger brother along with my couple of cousin brothers entered into an old bulding compund. People used to say no one goes near the pond inside the bulding.
And I want to find out know what happens, well we entered the compond no problem; however when we were near the pond we heard sound of drum's, we felt as if the sound's comming near us. This freaked one of my cousin and he started to cry and want to go home. "should I go near the pond or take everyone home right away' as I was elder of this team, I got worried of the people safty and I took everyone out of the compound.
To till this day, its just wonder's me "where did the drum sound come from?'

Hey shyam, about the drum thing it could have just been some old man trying to scare kids away from his pond.
Mario you shouldnt touch things that you dont know where they've been, you should probably wash your hands now, thankyou for wiping your finger prints off. Hehe :)

One thing that I always choose to believe is that grass is always greener on the other side. I have convinced myself that I am not willing to find out because it just might be a lie
I know full well that to become green it needs watering just like mine does so I am not willing to discover what the secret is and I'll put up with my own 'lawn', weeds and all

Hi mario! Can you say "dumb azz"? I don't touch a wall that has
a "wet paint" sign on it! I don't play with crystal that is marked
"fragile"! You know why! Because I am a KLUTZO PUTZO! I know I
drop things, spill things and make messes very easily! So no
touching anything! I can spill a glass of soda without hardly being
near it! I am deadly! Seems you are deadly and stupid! Get my
point mario!

I have dealt with that kind of people in my workplace. Always skeptical with what I say. I just ignore them. If they don't want to believe me, its up to them. Let them make mistakes and they will know who is telling the truth.
I am not at all affected for I can prove to them that what I am telling them is true. If they do not believe, and something happened to them, its their fault not mine.

hi aileen
yup...for those who are skeptical about everything (like me, but i'm just skeptical about most of the things, not all the things..), and for those who just need to fiddle with everything (like me too..), deserve anything that happens to them when they ignore the messages (exactly like me..).
it's usually a very expensive lesson to learn.. *sigh..

Butthere isa saying Mario 'Don't believe what you read' painted fingers and broken fragile item signs though in your case are writing the truth. Don't know why people are like this, one ofthe best picsI have of one of my nephews is him standing on the grass next to a 'keep off the grass' sign. The things we do eh! I don't have a scanner so can't upload but it always makes me smile. Huggles. Ellie :D

Well, this is true with other people.
Some believe what they choose to believe in and you can prove that thing.
My kids are naughty that,to believe, they have to touch or study the things closely before believing,or even broke the thing, spoil it just to satisfy their feelings.
Now,i can say,it is some of a childish thing, believing for things until proven.
happy weekend

hi Jaiho
i think i'm one of those who like to touch things and look at it closely and all.. i've broken a couple of things because of this habit of mine
but well, it's all in the spirit of curiosity

We do like to chosse what we believe. We want our way to be right. We want to know we are making the right choice. When we choose what to believe, we think we have a way to guarantee the outcome.

hi Sender
well...sometimes it's good to believe in a guaranteed outcome. once, i really chose to believe in something that i wasn't sure about. it turned out to be not real, and it was a very painful lesson to go through..

sometimes someone told me the answer to the question.i will work it out again.however,if the answer on the books is that i will believe it ,maybe it is wrong.i can't explain it but it is a fact.

sometimes i believe the things that they say in books too.. unless it's one of those 'self-help' books. sometimes some things it explains are to simple for me to believe..
