one last time

Saying goodbye is awfully hard, but I always try to get that last goodbye in. A friend of mine recently left for four months, and I shall miss her terribly. Because of where I live it was impossible for me to get to the airport without leaving the day before, so she asked me not to. Instead, I called her just before she got on the plan. The last goodbye can mean so much, it's imperative that you get one last word in if you care about your friend.

hi there. oh so true. i kinda wish that i had this "moment" with the special friends i have. now that years passed, i wonder if there will still be a chance to have a time with them. i hope that i was given this chance at an airport. am a sucker for such. i mean, it's how you show your appreciation to the person. but for me, i wouldn't ask anyone to meet me at the airport to see a friend for the last time. because i wouldn't want that. i want to see my friends still, until the time i have expired.

It was kind of you to go and make the effort to meet him for the last time! Hope you guys keep in touch though. Yes, there would be something special, something beyond the description of words when you meet somebody close for the last time.

Hi, as for me, think it melodramatic but I will surely see a friend who is requesting to visit and see him off for the last time, I will even give him some important souvenirs of me for him to remember me and our friendship, specially when it will be an undetermined time when you will see each other again and if he will be going somewhere very far from you,so many things can happen along the way and it's really very important to let him know that you treasure his friendship and it's important to you.

I don't know. I would definitively go to the airport to see a friend if they asked me to. However, I don't like goodbyes, they make me feel uncomfortable and, to be frank, I avoid all goodbyes. When I moved, I didn't tell my friends what would be the last day, I just disappeared. And I have avoided to go to farewell-dinners and gatherings for very dear friends. A goodbye can be good for both parts, if they are able to express things that have been left unsaid. I have never been able to express, in one moment, what it would normally take all the months/years of friendship to express, so I personally just skip the awkward and sad part and just try to keep in touch despite the distance.

You're right. Meeting for the last time is like closure but only for the mean time if you're gonna meet again in the future.

Really I think it is very nice you went to see your friend for the last time. o many times I say lets meet for lunch or whatever and it never happens. You probably will be remembered as a great friend. I need to take more time to remember my friends and go out of my way to see them. Like you you may never get another chance.

you did good by going to send ur friend off..coz u didnt really know that when is it going to be the next time u see him..i always send people off at the airport as i cnt predict the future..

hi, i still never experience that,having a friend that will need to go in far place,but if i have a friend who will ask for one last time seeing each other i will surely do it no matter how far the place is,especially when that friend is really important and part of my life.
