do you use a dishwasher...or are you the dishwasher?

The apartment I just moved in to has a dishwasher. For the most part I don't even use it at all. But about once a week I use it. For one I have a few more dishes and for the other I just kinda give my self the night off! I mostly don't use it so that I don't have extra charges on my electric bill.. hey, I figure every little bit helps! Do you use a dishwasher?

here in india we usually dont have dishwashers in common, it is very rarely found. but i have used dishwashers when i use to be in abroad and i felt it was good but i know the electric charges is high. first when i wasnt knowing it i use to use it daily but when i saw my yearly bill it was just very high and hence i used dishwasher whenever when there are guests and loads of work at home, i found it convinient and helping.

It is especially convenient when I have guests. Seems more expensive if I try to use it just for me! lol!

Yes I so use my dishwasher probably 2 times a week. I think if I were living alone I might not use it as much. But with children and it being summer and school is out, I have to use it. To my daughter, washing dishes is running water over the dish and it's done. So I end up with dirty dishes. I don't feel that the teenagers should make a mess for me to clean up when I get home. But I hate scummy feeling dishes. So I have them load the dishwasher and I run it.

This one works good. I just feel wasteful when I use it! I guess i could take a few days and rinse dishes and load it up.. then maybe it wouldn't be too bad!

Stacy: I'd take her "washed" dish, poke it under a microscope, let her see what still lived on her plate, then invite her to eat on it at the next meal. I think she'd discover a new vigor in her washing up after that little demo...don't you? STACY: A second option for you: start charging her a percentage of the power bill since it costs more MONEY to run the big noisy box that does her job for Her Laziness. IOW, the "punishment" should fit the "crime!" I'm just saying; I'd refuse to tolerate her attitude, & in fact, someday society & she will appreciate you for making her fulfill her family responsibilities. And if she can see over the counter, clearly she's quite old enough to behave responsibly...trust me. I knew better than to pull such shenanigans by the time I was 8, tops...& I couldn't see the counter at all at that age! I'm the dishwasher and I only wash the plates that I used every day. I don't really mind at all because all my family members do that as well. My parents taught me and my brother to wash our own plates and for some occasion, wash other people's plates if we have guests. We never had a dishwasher nor even plan to have one. I think in the Philippines, most of us use our bare hands for cleaning our dishes. it is rare to find people owning dishwashers here.

I really don't mind doing my own dishes. I think I really prefer it in some ways. I think by the time I get them all rinsed and put in the dishwasher I could have had them washed!

Unfortunately, I don't have dishwasher. I'm just a student and cannot afford a dishwasher at this moment in time. Therefore, I am the dishwasher. It's the only way that my dishes will ever get done. My husband and I have to do it ourselves.

I wouldn't buy a dishwasher. I just happened to have one in my new apartment. I live alone (well my son will be home soon) and it's not worth it to me to buy one. But since one is already here.. hey, why not?

I lived all my life without a dishwasher until I moved into my home in New Mexico. I use it every other night or third night depending on how full it is. In between though I also will wash a few dishes here and there. I rather wash them by hand and if I lived alone I would. However, with my daughter and her family living with me the dishwasher does come in handy.

I have a dishwasher and it takes about 2 to 3 days to load a full load now. When I REALLY needed one (haha) I had 5 children and did not have one I WAS the dishwasher Now that its basically my husband and son and I it takes a few days to fill. I do cook though. Generally I do my pots and pans by hand leaving the dishwasher to just dishes glasses cups, and silverware I figure the heat from the dishwasher can aid in lifting off the non stick coating and I want my pots and pans and bakeware to last as long as they can

Yeah, I don't want to put anything in it that might not be good. I usually wash my non-sticks in the dish washer.

well i used to be, but now my kids are the dishwashers! (much to their chagrin - they hate it!) they always tell me that when they are older, they will be getting a dishwasher for sure.

We don't have the dishwasher at home. My husband and I clean the dishes in turn. Such as this week I will clean the dishes and next week it is time for him to clean the dishes. It will be fair. I don't buy a dishwasher because I doubt whether it can work perfectly. I am afraid it is not clean enough. After all, dishewasher is not a common electrical appliance here. I love China

Sometimes they work real good and sometimes not!It depends on the kind I think and how forceful it can spray the water. I don't have a husband so the dishes are all on me! But then so is getting them all dirty! lol!

Using a dishwasher helps sanitize the dishes that you have used. I like to wash my toothbrushes in the dishwasher but I dont want to use the dishwasher all the time and we have a lot of toothbrushes so what I do is just put the dirty toothbrushes to wait in the dishwasher and then when we get close to running out of clean toothbrushes I will then do a load of dishes in the dishwasher. Usually though I just do them by hand. It dries out my skin but it saves me money. When I use the dishwasher because have hard water it will leave soap residue on the dishes so I have to use this lemon stuff in it as well as regular dishwashing detergent. The lemon stuff only lasts about 5 loads and it costs about $3 for the bottle so I dont want to have to buy that all the time. In the winter time the pipes to the dish washer freeze up so thats not even an option to wash the dishes in the dishwasher in the winter time.

lol!My kitchen is small too.. I considered using it for storage too. My kitchen is so little I can stir something on the stove and turn the water on in the sink..and they are directly across from each other.

A dishwasher is like a box. It has a couple of racks that you can load the dishes onto. Then you close it up and a sprinkler sprays the dishes with water and washes them off. There is special soap to put in the dishwasher too. It usually gets them pretty clean.

Hi there ! I wash my dishes myself and do not prefer to use a dishwasher. I haven't seen any dishwasher that could remove all stains and still wipe off the soap that remains. Maybe , this device still needs improvement !

I am definitely the dishwasher. LOL. Dishwashers are really not really that much popular here, people still wash the dishes by their hands, I guess it's easier for us, plus I don't want another energy consuming appliance in the house. Hehehe.

Well, No because we dont have one here at home. And if ever we have, I'd probably wont used it much. Since, it will add up in my electricity bill and dish washing the dishes is my way to lower my tummy bigger after meal

I've rarely used the dishwasher when I had one. Start the dish water when I start cooking in the kitchen. Eat. Do dishes. Done.

I am the eldest daughter too and so I grew up being the dishwasher too. I guess that's why I like it so well when I get to use the dishwasher - I just want to do it guilt free!
