How Do You Start An Online Store?

Hi friends for the longest time I wanted to start my online store like in ebay or multiply or even in facebook. But how do you start one? What kind of items gets sold easily and sells like pancakes? How do you negotiate with courier services for delivery? Is online selling a great business to start with? I shop online a lot but do not have any idea on starting business on the net. Please give me some tips and advices and where I can but quality but cheap things to sell preferably clothes and accessories.

I am a new seller in ebay (haven't sold anything yet though LOL) and from what I see, the most important thing for online business is the traffic. You can start your own website and put the things for sale but if you have poor traffic, none of your items will get noticed. I buy things to resell in a wholesale lots I find on local websites and I sell them individually. Try to sell on ebay, it's easy because all you have to do is right the description, take photos and research for keywords. No need the hassle of generating traffic because ebay has done it. What sells good? Well, in ebay, if you sell designer products, it does sell really good, like a hot pancake!

Thank you for this handy tip citra....yes I do notice in ebay that people usually buy designer items at a steal price. Especially when you start to bid them in a low price! I think you have to pay ebay if you want to get maximum exposure for your website but I am not certain just how much it cost. By the way do you know where to buy women's clothes in bulk that is cheap but is of high quality?

Well, as far as I know, you do not need a special feature to get maximum exposure. Keyword is really important. Ebay has a discussion forum that is very useful, you can learn a lot from there. However, if you are a good seller with great detailed seller's rating (DSR), yes, it does affect your item placement in search results. There are listing enhancement, though, like subtitle, big pictures, but you don't really need that. For pictures, you can put them in photo hosting sites like photobucket and put the HTML code on the descrption. That way you can put as many pictures as you like with no cost. Where to buy women's clothes in bulk? Well, I do not know much about this, but, you can try to look at your local shopping sites. Tell them you want bulk order. They usually will give discounted price. If you want to sell women clothing, try to shop when there's a sale. Good luck!

I've never sold items on ebay as an attempt to replace a regular income, but there have been some things that my husband and I have sold to get rid of them because we simply had too many things. The items that we've sold are kid's clothing (it sells pretty well when it is sold in lots). Also, we've sold some old computer parts as well and they also sell very well (especially processors that don't work anymore because of the scrap gold that can be harvested from them.) As far as etsy goes, I think that is mostly for items that are handmade.

Thanks doran for the tips... I have an ebay account but I only use it for buying stuff online. Haven't sold anything in there yet. I saw this etsy store and yes I think they are handmade or some kind of art work being sold. I do not know if they ship internationally. Do you know where to get branded cosmetics that sells cheaply in bulk? one that would ship worldwide?

You really need to know what you want to sell before you choose what you want to sell online! People are going to have lots of questions for you, and you need to be very specific when listing an item, or else the buyer will go elsewhere. I hear that Ebay is good if you want to buy items and then sell them to others.
I use Etsy, which is only used for handmade items or vintage items. Using Etsy is simple, so if you have a hand for crafts or vintage items, you should check out Etsy!

I sometimes buy clothes and showes online . that is because they are cheaper .And the online stores can make much money , if your store is better than others . Thus I suggest that you must choose a good business online firstly , it is very important . Then you can open your store online .good luck to you .
