Oh my God! I received this message from my boss to start working everyday and all my day off will be cancelled because we don't have another associate to work in time of my day off. I don't know If I can stay longer in my work although I enjoy it. What I need, I want 1 day off for me to relax and mingle some of my friends roaming around the city specially I am new here.
I talked to one of my colleagues who also my newly friend. He wants no day off because he want to have more savings from his overtime. I am confused about it, why I can't apply his point of view.
If you are on my case what will you do, always work for you to earn more money to have more savings? Share your views mylotters.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
HULYO

Already it has happened to me, they have extracted me my day Franc often, one does mas money, but sooner or later invoice ends up by happening to you, a day of rest is necessary per week and if your chief does not allow it to you to have your Franc or it you extracts it, you must denounce it because it does not correspond.

since you are there to earn money, why do you have to complain of the work (are you complaining?) or the time of work you will do? you came there for work and money. but of course, it is better for our health to have good rests always. for me, if it will really mean more earnings, then i won't be complaining.

When I was still single, I didn't care if I don't have offs. But now that I'm a mother, I make ways to have day offs and go home on time.
I changed my mindset after reading some works and listening to my mentors. We need to make money work for us instead of us working for money. We need to allocated our time to other things more important than job like relationships.

Hello my friend hulyo...yes am sorry am not with you in your idea but to your friend who wanted to work everyday without day-off. Maybe he would just wanted to earn a lot for his family here (or where). Maybe he is just really badly needed for a money.
Maybe he would not just miss a thing or something that would make him busy to hide his loneliness we never know..Anyway, we have different point of view..for me I would grab the chances of working extra hours, I mean the place i would love to explore are just there..i could anytime, any vacant time i would have someday, they can wait. But, the job which your boss asked for you to work overtime on it maybe it would just be for the mean time..if i were you grab the opportunity my friend...
But still, i would respect your decisions...
Good luck..

Hi Hulyo,
This is not healthy. WE are all entitled for at least a day for an off. If you will give in to it, in the long run your health will be at risk. your earnings will not be enough to cover for your meds if ever you'll get sick. be assertive enough to let your supervision know that you demand a day off.

If i wore your shoes i rather do that. WOrk and overtime is not that often offered especailly in the economic crisis. You are blesses. MAybe you can extend your day . You can go out even at night after an exhausting day. Moving around to unfamiliar places sometimes is exciting. Learn to manage your time and give time for everything. You can enjoy and earn at the same time.

I would do the overtime for a while to keep the boss happy but after some time I would ask for a break because it is very good to work hard to boost savings but money won’t do you much good if you’re too exhausted to enjoy it! I think work should be give and take; give your boss the overtime and that will keep you in his good books so you can ask for a day off in due course.

I think it is against the law that you will require you staff to work with no day off at all. It is the right of the employer to make sure his staff is all working but it is also the right of the employees to have at least one day off in a week. The choice to work on day off or not will mostly be the choice of the person working.

I can't stay long in that kind of job. Whole week of work without any rest is like abusing my body. Everybody needs to relax for a while and rest his body and mind as well. Anyways you will know from the contract of Job offer if what are the days off and I'll stick to what is written in my offer.

I did that for almost 3 years, I had only one day off a month (that was lucky). And not a cent more I received than my usual payroll. There were always something going on at weekends that needs my presence at the office. At one time it was my birthday and I wanted to have a half day off in the afternoon, cause I wanted to prepare a party for my friends at home. My boss said: "I don't know Jenny, it is very busy at the moment in the office." I turned red and spoke to my boss without any thinking: "I've worked myself for years for this company, even at my weekends without complaints, and now when I want a half day off, you complain. Did I ever ask you to pay for overtime works? Did I ever ask you to replace my weekends when I was at work?" I was to continue my rant when he raise both hands and said: Okay Jenny, I got your point. You may have your half day off."
So, it is up to you. Surely the company cannot push you if you don't want to do it.

Hi! If my work is only like 6 to 7 hours it's okay if I don't have a day off, but if it's like 12 hours of work, no way! Lol. That'll be difficult and I'll get sick. Happy MyLotting!

everyone deserves a break even if they love their work too much..i think you have to talk to your boss..before when i was still working in dubai..my boss wants me to come to office everyday but i can't agree to that..i also have some personal things to do..so i demand to leave the company if he will persist on making me work everyday..normally this type of boss is trying to abuse you of the services you can offer and we can't allow that to happen..employees after you will also suffer the same if nobody will put a stop to it now..

hi julyteen oh take advantage of this as you can do that until
'they either hire another employee or the old one can come back.I
say this because it really puts you in good with your boss. You
are apt to be given a promotion when One is available to move
you up into more wages and a more profitable position too.I had
done this in the library and the extra take home pay came in pretty handy for us.

Hi, julyteen. Is it possible if your boss can allow your other co worker to work the day that you want off? Since he does not want to have any days off at all? I think that he should let him work your day off. That will give you one day off and for him to have more savings overtime. It makes perfect sense to me! I don't like being on a job where I have no days off. It is always good to have a couple of days off so that one can relax and replenish from all of the hard work. I hope that you are able to achieve this.

hahahah working 24/7 is a big no no. we earn so that we can enjoy the money not to pay the hospital bill when we get sick of overtime work. i think everybody needs a break even God rested on the 7th day.

I think everyone needs a little bit of time off so working every day without a break is not something I would want to do unless it was absolutely necessary. If my boss was in a tight spot and there was no other choice I would do it for a few weeks but not for any longer than that.
