One way to enjoy the food is to dip something fried into some sticky sauce and put it in your mouth before it's fully soaked. For example, sometimes I dip French fries in corn soup or black tea. And it's really yummy.

Wow, I thought I was the only one that did that sh*t, when I did it , some people said it was naïve of me, but trust me that's the best way to have. Bread and cofee, so when am alone in the house I do it very well, but when am in some fancy hotel with high class people, I comport myself and do it the normal way.

When I was young, I always do that because I imitate the adults. Now, I don't do that anymore. I don't know why. I just prefer my bread dry. Besides, I don't eat bread without a spread anymore. Everytime I eat bread, it has to have at least cheese or mayo. It's weird of I dip it in coffee or chocolate with cheese or mayo in it so I don't do that.

Oh yes! Dipping bread in coffee, biscuit in tea, cookies in milk...mostly Filipinos have tried doing that. Some enjoys it, some doesn't. I like it as well but not always. I have learned it from my grandmother, too. We are from Batangas and whenever we have "kapeng barako" (brewed coffee) on the table, expect to see bread and biscuits taking bath in our cups. Or sometimes, when eating rice, we put some coffee on our plates just to add taste to it. Somewhat like chocolate porridge, but we put coffee instead. :D

Hiya o0jo,
All of my Husbands Family have done that too dip their Bread in their Coffee in a Morning but it´s hardly ever done now.
I got that habit of eating bread like that from England when I was small I used to dip the bread into the gravy of the Meat.
But I don´t dip it into Coffee. I dip Biscuits into Tea and that is something else I learned in England too.

yes, many times. when we are just kids we often dip our bread to our coffee or chocolate and even in a fresh milk.
it give taste to the bread and it make comfortable to eat because you don't need to eat it it just melts into your mouth.

Yes I do! I love doing that especially when you're having pan de sal (poor man's bread, or so it's called) with cheese for breakfast. :) I do it with coffee though not with hot chocolate. Have never tried it with hot chocolate.

Hi o0jopak0o! I tried it before but I don't like it. The bread got mushy and I think it's gross. I love my bread with cream cheese on it. yummy!

Infact a lot of food recipies involve dipping the food in a liquid - that allows the liquid to seep in and add flovour to the bread. I am an Indian and I cook bread soaked in milk, cookies covered in choclate sauce, vegetables coated with gram flour mixture..... All of these are delicious dishes :-)

I like dipping bread in drinks, but I enjoy dipping bread into soups more. My two favorites are dipping sourdough bread into french onion soup and dipping a tuna sandwich into tomato soup.

My teenage son dips tortillas in tea. I have no idea where he picked this up from as nobody else in my family dips anything in their beverage. I even saw him dipping tortilla chips into soda one night. Seemed kind of odd to me but obviously he's not the only one...that makes me feel better.
