Whenever we will be traveling for any longer than a couple hours I always make sure I have a bag of snacks in the car. I usually pack some crackers and maybe some kind of cookies or pretzels. My husband and I will take a long a few water bottles and the kids will get a couple of juice boxes. This helps make the ride go a lot smoother. Do you take snacks in the car for your long drives?

yes, they are absolutely necessary to carry. Always try and carry eatables in the vehicle when you are traveling. especially when you are going to a long drive. You may feel hungry and you may not find any food outlet on the way. So i always see to it that whenever i travel with my family for a long journey and carry food with me. It is also good for the kids. They feel hungry fast and they like to eat snack very often.

Yes,it is a good way for long travel. When you have snacks in the car,you need not stop the car to eat lunch. It will waste a long time of your travel.Another,it is convenient to eat,you can eat the snacks anytime in the car.And you don't feel hungry on your travel.

Travelling with kids long distance, I always carry snacks and drinks in the car. My dad usually has a packet of biscuits in the car all the time...because even when he is travelling within the city, he might not find a place to eat when he is hungry. I tried to do the same....but it doesn't always happen. But the little one always has a bag that is packed with snacks and a drink for him...so, I'm almost always prepared.

For long drives in my car I take some snacks along and some bottles of water. I like to have some fruit and nut bars, some rice cakes and some crisps. I enjoy taking water to drink and a container of fruit juice. I put my children's bottles of soy milk in a lunch box. I pack three bottles for each of my children. I have a baby daughter and a toddler son.

I always need a bottle of water with me no matter where I am driving to. I love taking some granola bars or cereal bars too.

My kids take snacks in the car even if we are only going to be in the car for 20 minutes. They usually have a drink of some sort and something to snack on. I have even packed sandwiches for us to take with us when we leave the house if it is around lunch time when we are leaving or will be arriving at our destination.

All the time. I'm usually the one that does the driving so I always make sure to have my opened bag of chips and bottled water with a straw in it ready. I especially like traveling long distances with my mom because she's always prepared. She brings pretty much everything, ranging from snacks to fruits. She'd actually sit there cutting up the fruits for me to eat while I'm driving. Kind of makes me spoiled because I'm always expecting that kind of treatment now whenever I travel. But the best thing about bringing your own snacks is that it does save time since you don't have to stop so often at gas stations or whatever to pick them up along the way.

Sounds like when we visit my brother each summer. That is also a 10 hour trip. We make a lot of bathroom stops and eat a picnic lunch at a rest stop.

For long trips yes. Regular driving, I do not allow food in the car. I HATE it when people eat fast food in the car. The smell left behind os gross. When we take long road trips, I just count on spending time to clean out the car when we get back.

I always clean out my car before a long trip and after. I know what you mean about the smells though - it can make the long ride seem even longer.

Hi, Shar19. When my husband will take all of us to another city, he usually will stop and get us something to eat. We may get a snack if we have already eaten before the long drive. Or we may go and pick something up from a restaurant to eat. We always end up getting hungry when we go out of town to travel. Having snacks beforehand is a very smart thing to do.

You have to bring snacks on a trip, i might only live an hour and half from Disney World and i bring a snack with me just to go there. I think i eat alot, im not a big person at all and i have a very fast metabuilism i guess so i eat alot and thats that. I don't eat alot at one sitting and i eat through out the day and not big things maybe a little bag of chips i will eat then in a couple hours i will eat something else I have to bring snacks on a trip just for myself and then i will also bring other things for the family when im with them traveling.

It's smart to bring a snack even if it's just for yourself. Besides you never know what kind of traffic you might get stuck in.

Sunflower seeds, sour skittles and sweet ones too sometimes and gummy worms both sweet and sour. I keep all kinds of gum too. They will also eat cold popcorn if it has butter on it. The micro kind that is in a pkg. and if they don't eat it , I feed to the geese ! I sometimes carry a few pbjs and in an ice chest if I know we are going to be a long time. And if there is a concession stand, they like nachos, hot dogs and FROZEN PICKLE JUICE.......... and there are these sour straw thingys they love.......... I just keep a stache and it is always good.

Yes, we do. If we are going for a long journey as a family, we will take drinks (water, Coke, juice) and usually some crisps (potato chips) or biscuits or something to eat too. We also will buy sandwiches if we need a meal en route. If it is just me and my husband, we are usually okay with a drink and a chocolate bar.

Dear friend, Yes, for long drives we do take snacks, that too if there is not much hotels or any other ways to get food is not available. Moreover homely food are better than hotel foods while travel in India.

If I let my kids stay up all night they would still be wide awake for the trip. They would be too nosy and excited to sleep in the car.
