Today, I try to clear my unresolved discussion by selecting best response. Unfortunately, I could do that. Actually, it's very hard to choose best response. Almost all of the responses I get for my discussions meet my needed. Most responses are right and very similar. I confused which one that I have to choose. Please share to me here whether you have tips for choosing the best response.

actually you are right many of the mylotter really give great responses and opinion on our discussion.
for me I give and pick my best responder by their focus on the discussion I made and the continuity of the discussion.
Because sometimes there are great responder and commenter but once I reply to their comment and responses they do not reply back and the discussion stop there so I decided to pick the best responder when they continue to discuss our topic until we made a great communication with each other.

Good opinion, buy involved deeply in the discussion we may know what exactly their opinion. What about if the discussion about question and answer topic? We could get the answer at the first chance. We might can't make feedback comment to the response. Usually we just say thank you for the response.

I think when it comes to question answer discussion we can give and take both of the opinion of the discussion maker and the responder.
usually after the responder answer the question the discussion starter continue to ask for more info about that certain question.

yes most of the reponses are best. but soemtimes there will be a response that really touched u or was what u wanted. I usually do not mark the best response if I find all of them to be the best. I will leave a comment stating that your response is a good one. Mylot should give option of choosing more than one best answers. after I marked best response in one of my discussions I came accross another one which also needed the best reaponse marking.

That's the problem. Most responses seem to be the best response to me. If I don't choose the best response for my discussion, I feel guilty. I feel that I don't appreciate others effort. They respond to my discussion, honest or not, they need to be appreciate. Perhaps, most of them hope that their response to be the best. I hope someday, mylot will add best response guidelines to help us determine the best response.

this is the reason why i do not choose immediately the best response. i wait for sometimes, even months before resolving my discussions.

de toya I really think there is always just on response that is a little bit better than the others. Maybe its a little more clear or better worded
but check again then just chose the one you like the best. Do not take a long time as you just confuse yourself that way.It is not at all like doing brain surgery so just pick the one that gets closest to what you wanted to hear. Do it quickly so you do not get bogged down in details.

I have ever chosen the best response quickly but I think I made a mistake. I get other good response that I think was better than I have chosen. Hence, I am more careful to choose the best respond. Even though no one blame me but I feel guilty to the person who has made good response and I didn't appreciate for his effort. I don't want to make any mistake again. At least, all of responder will accept my choose and say that the response that I have chosen deserve to be the best.

Hi de_toya!
I agree. It's quite a challenge. I would love to see as many points being shared and relevant to the topic of the discussion. There are things which are difficult to measure sometimes when there are lots of good points as there normally would. I would use more of my heart instead of my brain then.

So, it would be very subjective if we use my heart instead of our brain to rate responses. Perhaps you are right, some times feeling is very useful to decide many things included to choose the best response. The best response is exclusively right of the discussion owner. The owner reserve the right to choose which one they think the best.

I agree that sometimes you get lots of similar responses, all good. It can be very hard deciding which one deserve the best response.
What I do is, I read through them and try to find a response which is unique and answers the question. If there are more than one, I tend to choose the response from my friends. I look for humour, good advice and uniqueness.

I tend not to choose a best response in an open topic I started. I always rate them positive instead of choosing only one as the best. For a question-style discussion, if some of the responses are almost the same, I usually choose the longest or the first one.
I think you needn't be so earnest when choosing the best, no one will blame you only because you don't choose his/her response as the best. Usually, it's hard to say which one is definitely better than others.

Indeed, no one blame me for wrong decision when choose the best response for my discussion. I am serious about this. I need to be earnest when choose the best response. I feel guilty if I didn't choose the best response correctly. I have ever made a mistake when choose the best response even though no one blame and protest to me. At least, I try to choose really the best and accepted by other members. I want they say that the best response was I chosen deserve to be the best. Thanks for your advice. Your advice about choose the longest or the first response will be considered when I choose the best response.
