Oh my God! The first time I made mistake yesterday, I can't sleep last night when I heard the message from one of my colleagues. My task everyday is to check room in the hotel before it will sold to any guest. I made a print for all check outs yesterday and went to the room. I check one room number 224 and 226. Room 226 was ready and room 224 was not. After I finished inspecting I crash out from my list room number 224, was supposed to be 226. The guest book room number 224 because it was already inspected. What a big surprise of the guest when he came in the room. Wow, very dirty and all things not arrange. Room 224 and 226 listed respectively on my list that is why I mistakenly crash out the wrong one. I consider it as a human error maybe because I am pressured yesterday. I am alone assigned on all floors because my senior supervisor was leaving and won't come back. All task I shouldered. Until now I am still thinking what happen yesterday. I am annoyed of what I did.
This morning I speak to my Deputy Manager and shared with him what happen yesterday because he was on day off and he told me that it's normal we make human error sometimes and he advised me to be careful because we are here in the country where guest are very picky and tough. It's a very sensitive issue in our work place.
After I spoke with him I am nervous to release rooms for the guest. I am afraid I can make mistakes again.
What a bad day yesterday for me.

You have to be calm, to wander or to be wrong it is human and mas these when on loaded with work, but it has to serve you as experience and you must be calm because your chief understood you, it did not sanction you and I advise you, so it values very much it because it is very rare, and in general they dismiss you.

Hi, I can only imagine how you feel. But it is normal to have these kind of experiences. These things will actually teach us a lesson and make us avoid mistakes in the future. It can also mold you into a more responsible, attentive and detail oriented employee in the future. A lot of people before they reached the top experienced worst or unimaginative but this will all be in the past. Just be careful not to do something at work that will put you in big trouble...

Everyone does make mistakes, julyteen, and since your manager didn't seem too upset don't be too hard on yourself. Can you put a line through the room number of the rooms that are ready for the next guest so that you don't make that mistake again? Don't let this make you too nervous. You're only human.

hi julyteen wow what an awful day for you but like your manager said we do all make mistakes as we are human, and humans do make mistakes. Just
learn from it and be more careful Do not beat yourself up over it as you will now be more careful. Many years ago I worked as a nurses aide in our local hospital. We were short of aides so I was sent down to pick up two ladies, one was to go for appendectomy surgery, the other was a first time pregnancy. So I get downstairs and see two women in wheelchairs with their mates behind them, but the young one I assumed was the pregnant lady going to the childbirth floor, and the older one was going to the surgical floor for an appendectomy. So I address the young lady and her husband as Mrs. JOnes and the other one as Mrs. Harrison, going for surgery, Right away my big mouth is getting me in trouble, as the young woman is the surgical patiend, the older one is the pregnant one. Okay so the young woman is there with her father I decided seeing she was maybe 20 or younger, and the man at least sixty. So I say to Mrs jones I am here to take you to the surgical floor, and your father can come along too.Second error the man sputtered out, Iam her husband young lady.; So now I know the Mrs Harrison who does not look pregnant is the lady for the maternity floor. So I breeze up to them,. Hi Mrs. Harrison you and your husbandcan come with the others, and she is the one who now makes me put my foot in my mouth again. She snapped, this is my son, Miss. WEll I really blew it all the way around and I apologized to both couples. I did get them to their respective f l oors.
so I learned a valuable lesson that morning, never assume from the looks, always ask people instead.

Oh! That should be a tough day really. If that guest reported to the management, you could have been suspended from your job and you would have been black marked. Thank god@ He didn't do that. And it is nice to have an understanding superior to ignore your fault to be a human error. The next time, be careful not to commit any silly mistakes like this.

It's really okay because we all make mistakes. I've just become a swing manager where I work and I make A LOT of mistakes. Like today, I didn't get a lot of things done and cleaned. This was also the first time I worked a Friday night all night and as the only manager so it was a learning experience. I think we all learn from our mistakes and I think you learned you just have to be more careful sometimes but don't beat yourself up over it.
