I don't have a laptop but when i use my gf's and fathers laptop they both do strange things when i write. I stopped writing at mylot when i'm on laptop because when i type a comment sometimes i start writing in the middle of the previous sentence Than it's all messed up. But today i have had it! So i searched for solution and found it. When you write you accidently touch the integrated touchpad(mouse). The solution is to turn of the tapping. Chances are you have a button with mouse symbol on it. Hold the function key and press the key with mouse and that should do it. If you don't have such key search on how to disable tapping in google. Do you have the same problem, any other laptop related problems? Man i hate vista!

This is a really common problem with people who don't use a laptop keyboard a lot. It's caused by accidentally touching the touch pad with one's thumbs or something else. The solution is to plug a a mouse into the laptop and to disable the touch pad (this should be quite easy to do temporarily from the little icon in the system tray). For the sake of any other users of the laptop, don't forget to enable it again before you log out!

(I see that you also have a keyboard solution which works with some laptops!)

You're wright thumbs are doing all the problems. My gf does use another mouse but she doesn't turn off the touch pad that's why that happens. I'm actually glad i don't have laptop or vista or 7 so far I'd only have laptop for backup. Thanks for your comment

I on the other hand are not sold on laptaps as they are always having problems or having to go to the shop. with my desktop I cannot carry it around but on the other hand it can be repaired at home about 99 percentof the time. and it does not need a battery and it has a great mouse that doesnt do bad things to what you are typing either. I love
my samsung computer and monitor an led one and only three years old
I love my desktop andwould not trade it for a laptop at all..

I always turn off the touchpad when I use my laptop. I use mouse. May be I'm just old fashioned, that I can't get used to the touchpad. I need a mouse always. My mouse is always plugged in and it goes wherever my laptop goes. I don't really mind if the touchpad is taken off completely.
I hate it when you are typing something and you accidentally brush the touchpad without realising, and you look at what you type, and well, it's a complete mess.
