I am sitting here contemplating going to the bathroom (had too much water - you get my meaning!!), but contemplating because, my son rushed out the bathroom telling me that there was a big black spider that has just crawled behind the bathroom bin. He is petrified of them bless him (he is 9, so I guess he has an excuse), I am not petrified of them as much as I used to be, but... I don't want to go in there and move the bin, because I don't want it running out and crawling on me lolI am such a wimp!! I know I am going to have to give in shortly because I can't hold on much longer . So fellow my lotters are you scared of spiders... or something else like that?

Eating spiders while you sleep is an urban legend.

Yes my boyfriend says this to me as well. He hated cats, and I have a cat, and he says, don't ever kill spiders in your house, let them run around freely, they wont hurt you, but they will kills any bugs or fleas that your cat might bring in the house. I have to say I am not really scared of them, but I just don't like the thought of them crawling on me, if they got a chance even though I know that we actually eat spiders when we are sleeping (which is not a nice thought!). I think it's just the way they scuttle around the floor that freak me out.

I am not afraid of spiders . . . although something poisonous like a black widow might creep me out. But I do shudder at cockroaches - ych - they just gross me out!! I do have a friend, however, who totally is afraid of spiders - and he is a big guy!! I once sent him a letter and rubber stamped a big black spider onto the envelope (as a joke). Apparently when he got the letter, he dropped the envelope and proceeded to smash it with his shoe . . . he totally thought it was a real spider - ha ha. I thought that was funny - but he didn't - literally wanted to wring my neck over that one!! Hope you got that spider!!

lol... now thats cruel, poor guy lol... I used to be really scared of them, but since having kids I am quite often the only one here that can get rid of them, so I have kind of had to toughen up! I don't like the thought of cockroaches, luckily we don't have those.

Well, I am afraid of them. I really don't like spiders. You know a spider is an araneae, an order of arachnid. There are many thousand different kinds of spiders. All spiders have eight legs and most spiders have eight eyes. Even though I avoid them but you know they have always been with us, an ancient source of fear and fascination. Most spiders are small, inconspicuous arthropods which are harmless to humans. Their beneficial role in keeping insect populations in check far outweighs.

hi rosie if you ever say a picture on webmd of the hand of a woman bit by a California brown spider you should be afraid of spiders. this brwon spider bite made a deep hole wound in her hand that made the doctors put her in oxygen therapy in a hyperbaric chamber likt they use for the bends. the oxygen treatment finally healed it. I am very scare of all spiders. I smash them to mush whenever I see one and of all places to come in our all apartment was in my son's walk in shower stall. I almost fell trying to drown one big brown spider but I did get rid of the spider amid some shrieks.Even the ordinary ones can bite you and leave an infected large pimple like thing. no I dislike them so much.

LOL!!! I smash them too, if I know where it is, or somewhere easy to get them, I admit regardless of what the other half says I take a shoe, normally my flip flop, and smash them, and then wipe them up. If they are in the bath tub or sink I run the hot water on them. I really am nasty ain't I . I don't think I have heard of that spider biting her, but now that has freaked me out even more. I have to say here in the UK, I am not sure as to whether we have dangerous spiders, or any that can bite, but to be honest, I am not willing to take a chance to find out. Did you ever see that film Arachnophobia? Well... I watched it with my brother and parents, when I lived with them, and it scared the crap out of me... especially the part where a spider jumped on that mans face... Oh my gosh I jumped so bad, I can't even watch that film again.

It hygienic.

Yeah that could be a good idea. Here in the UK, I do not know if we have spiders that bite, but I do not really want to find out... there are so many of them around at the moment because it is our summer time, and we have had some really warm weather.

I'm a pretty big wimp, like you! LOL. I really hate spiders. I never really understood why except that the idea of some spiders being able to cause so much damage really scares me. I went to the mailbox today and a huge black spider fell out of that! It freaked me out and I decided that i really didn't need the mail today. xD Then again, sometimes I've got a reason to be afraid of spiders. Our house has brown recluse spiders (or it did when we moved in as it had been sitting empty for at least half a year, maybe a year). I've seen pictures of what these spiders can do and read how painful these bites can be, so I do try to be really careful about staying away from spiders just in case.

Oh that does not sound too good, with the spiders that could be in your house. Oh my god that would just do me in, I think I would move out lol! As for your mail, I would have been the same, sometimes mail just is not needed huh! Let the spider read it!

I am terrified of spiders they just scare me for some reason, especially when they run across the room

Thats what I don't like... it is when they scurry along the floor, it just makes me shiver lol... I had one in here once, and I had to put my feet up on the sofa as I saw it run across the floor and go under the sofa... I was scared stupid that it was going to crawl up the sofa to get me, I ended up standing on the sofa and jumping off landing in the middle of the room, I had to get someone to come in and get rid of it. I just don't feel comfortable sitting in a room knowing there is a spider there somewhere. Ewwww!!

too much water rosie230! It's nice for you to get to the bathroom as fast as possible dear! If not I'm afraid that certain undesirable plight might happen if you keep on refraining of... I hope you have got the spider problem solve so that you don't have to tolerate the very pee anymore. Oh no, you are not a wimp! As almost everyone has his personal scary phobia. Like me I don't afraid of any little creature with legs I only scare of creatures without any leg like worm, snake, etc. Among all the most I'm scared of is leech. It's a small legless creature that is available in the damp and dark grassy area, like places covered with damp fallen leaves under the tree shed, river bank, jungle path, etc. These disgusting creatures would suck our blood once they stick on our exposed body. We would feel the awful itch and pain from the bleeding wound left by the leech. The leech will drop after satisfied with the sucking I try not approach to any of such places to avoid from the disturbance of the blood suckers. Take care and happy posting

Not everyone hates spiders. Many people will happily let spiders crawl all over them and even keep them as pets. Let's face it, spiders are an important part of the balance of nature. They do much good and are our allies. Apart from some notable and rare exceptions, spiders and most bugs are harmless. Despite this, the proportion of the population that has an aversion to spiders is high. Even if you do not mind them, I guarantee that you will know someone who does.

Well i imagine i could be doing the same thing like you if i experienced something like that lol. Get a Baygon or something, that should give you a distance advantage. I dunno why but why do they have to grow that big, i mean really. They are only eating insects not rats lol.

I used to be very afraid of spiders, but now I am better about it. I still don't particulary like them, but the thought of one scurrying out from the toliet doesn't frighten me that much anymore. I know in my mind that if it did, it probably would not seek me out to hurt me and that I could probably just step on it if it ran in front of me. Believe that you are mightier than the spider! If I were you, I'd just go in there with shoes on. No big deal, you can take care of it if it comes to stepping on it that way. What can it really do to you? Most spiders can't bite humans anyway and he will probably just try to run away from you if he detects you near him.

I am also afraid of spiders because I am always reminded of the time when my daughter got bitten by spider hiding inside her shoes. Until I am still afraid of the spiders. There are spiders which can kill people.

Spiders are one thing that will send me packing. I swear my heart stops beating just at the sight of a spider. What's crazy about this iss one of my favorite movies is Arachnophobia! A spider movie! I guess I can handle spiders on the movie screen better than in real life. Just the thought of a spider crawling on me gives me the chills!

I am not scared much of spiders but i hate to find one crawling on me in the dark because one never knows what can happen to you. I am actually scared of snakes as they way they move and slither and just stick out their tongue gives me the creeps. I am really very scared of them and i didn't even see any snake till now. Eden in movies i would close my eyes whenever i see a snake.
