My husband bought some yellow daisies last week and we transplanted them in a partly sunny flower bed, since the instructions said these flowers would grow in either sun or shade. Now the flowers are dying and the flowers and stems have a lot of slugs on them, which is disgusting. How can I get rid of the slugs and save the flowers?

I have tried eggshells, but they didn't work so well for me, but I was spreading them around hostas. Slugs don't like copper either because they get a bad reaction from trying to crawl over it. I take copper pot scrubbers and unwind them.
I stake them out around the base of the hostas. The slugs won't cross over the sharp copper mesh.
