Just came from our office and also around the hotel I work and I saw many frames post on the wall about saving our environment. Our hotel encourage all associates to participate in making our working place clean and green although they did it before. I saw one frame about the ARCTIC in the future- bby 2040 it will have a summer free of ice. How annoying news for us. Many creatures will suffer if that will happen. We are encourage to save our mother earth now. How do you participate on this, and what moves you make to save our mother earth?

First and foremost, there must be no more throwing of toxic wastes without exercising proper precautions. No more plastic stuff. Everyone must be required to plant one or two good trees every year. Say no more to manufacturing environmentally hazardous items. Participate in the "clean air act" movement., Let's all stay fit and healthy, and etc.... Let's not wait for others to initiate in saving the world. Let us all be responsible enough to start doing our part... in preventing the end of everything from happening- now.

I really think that there is a need for the greener world because we all can notice that the surface temperature of the earth is going up. The polar ice caps are melting and the sea level is rising because of that. If we do not control how we respond to the environment, we might not have a choice left some years down the lane.
Many steps are being taken by a lot of people to save the Earth now atleast. I have joined a group called the Green Peace and sign their petitions for their different campaigns to save the earth and it's environment. It's a great effort cause it hardly takes any time and they need only our support which we can extend if we take just a min or two out of our schedule and read through their petition and sign it. It hardly takes any time and if we all get together to support such NGOs, then I think we will have a better chance to save our mother Earth from our exploitations.
On a personal level, I try to reduce the use of fuels, by walking to smaller distances like the stores or when I'm going to a friends place. Keep the place clean by disposing off the stuff in their right manner. Planting trees and maintaining them.

we can help save our beloved planet by doing simple things such as segregating of our wastes and switching from incandescent bulbs and florescent to CFL. These are just some of the simple and easy ways we can do to help save our dying planet. We need to act now and always so that we will have a future to look forward to. we are the guardians of the earth, it was only entrusted to us so we should take care of it.

It has become a fashion now a days to add Green in front of everything. Green IT, Green Healthcare, Green Jobs etc. But are people really practicing what they preach. I think the move to go Green has to be made by each individual. Commitments such as switching of electricity devices once the use is over. Commitments to minimize the use of paper. I really wonder how the western world can talk about paper less office, when their day cannot start with paper (toilet paper)!! In India, washing with water is preferred to using paper to wipe off!! I think it is much more greener practice and saves an enormous amount of paper and trees.
I think it is real high time that people start sharing such green practices across the globe and switch to them if we want our planet to be a Green planet.
Cheers!

hi julyteen Yes we should have been at this before but I do try whenever I see litter on our California streets to pick up the trash and put it in the trash containers that are all over the city. I try to clean up in my own room too.We worked at saving electricity when we were in our apartment by shutting off electrical appliances when done. shutting off lights in rooms we were not using, and using more fuel efficient light
'bulbs that saved both energy and money too. We reuse plastic sacks and often carry groceries home in cloth bags instead.

I always believe in doing something simple and yet consistent, starting from my own household. At home we seggregate our household waste, reuse containers, switch off appliances when not in use, never use tumble dryer, opt for more environmental-friendly and ethical products, bring our own bags when we shop, etc etc... see there are so many ways we could do already, and hopefully these efforts will expand to a larger scale over time.

for me if I only have power or position from the government I would plant small trees on the side street of our town, tress benefits us by sucking the polluted air, also it will lessen the heat produce by structures/buildings, and importantly it'll give shade to the people. we humans are so busy working for our prosperity,to improve our resources so busy that we forgot the world we are living, I watch some videos and documentation that discuss about our beloved earth and you won't imagine how big the damage that we humans cause to our mother earth, but unfortunately I'm just a simple man but in my own way i help earth by simply throwing our waste properly it's the least i can do.=]
