Parents are the best teachers!

Life is all about learning isn't it? And I believe that parents are the best teachers that life can offer. Right from the very sight till the time we are blessed with their presence, we have so much to learn from them and in such a beautiful way. Sometimes in a way that is harder to perceive and understand, and sometimes as easy as blinking! What do you think? Are parents the best teachers, or is there anyone else worthy enough to take their place. And just to make it clear, parents are best teachers in all aspects. We learn from their qualities what we should do, and we also learn from their limitations how we shouldn't be or what we shouldn't do! Win Win situation for us! God bless everyone's parents!

while I agree that our parents are among the best teachers we can ever have.. I will vote for experience this time.. for me experience is the best teacher.. I am not only referring to your experiences but also the experiences of others like your role model, mentors and your parents..

Well, you are right! Experience also plays an important role, as atleast 50% of our life we solely depend on experience.

Yes, indeed, they are the best teacher as they have lots more experience and time has also taught them a lot from which we can learn and they can teach us very well. But there are some parents who is not a good teacher, may be because they don't know enough to teach their child but this is true each parents wants their kids to be perfect and do their best to teach them and make a man.

All I can say is parents are the teachers that affect you most in your life. Best or not? Well, I don't really think so. Yes, they have lots of good qualities that we should learn but then, but they are too close to us and will be difficult to be objective enough on some situations. For example, when we did something wrong, a good teacher should always point out your errors and make sure your correct it. Your parents, they probably will tell you you have done something wrong but yet they will just let you continue.

Whoah, isn't it the way around!?! As far as I can go with my experience, parents will see to that we don't make the same mistakes again and if we do, they help us understand the ill effects or disadvantages of it. On the other hand teachers, only do their job of pointing out mistakes. The difference is that parents do it with heart and teachers do it because its their job!

I believe that parents are the best guidance giver, rather than God. Parents only guides us to become what we are today, they don't really teach us to become something. Experiences however, are the best teachers in our life.

There are a lot of good and capable teachers in the world. Every parent has love and concern for their child. I don't know that every parent would be the best teacher for a child. A parent is certainly the first teacher a child will ever have. There are so many lessons in life to learn. Finding the best teacher to teach them is a journey in itself.

Exactly, you made a very good point here. Parents help us shape our character and build up our personality.

I agree that parents are the best teachers. We learn a lot from them and they also learn new things from us too. Most parents are very patient, understanding and show unconditional love. That's why the children should respect and show care and love as well. Without them, we wont be alive. haha =)

I think parents can be the best teachers if you are lucky enough to have good parents. Some kids have parents that are the worst parents towards them. So in that case maybe the best teacher could be another relative or close family friend. There are all different types of teachers in child's life that they could benefit from.

Yes, i agree that parents are the best teachers in life.We learn our values in life from them. We develop our personalities through their guidance. Most of us get our manners from them. It is from our home and family that we become good persons. But not all parents teach their children good deeds and all that they should learn. There are parents that don't care about how their children grow to be better persons. I also believe that we learn a lot from experience, be it good or bad.Parents and life teach us how to be good persons.

Since I'm a homeschooling mom, I guess I'll have to agree, lol. If we were to include non-humans in the selection, then I suppose life would win. Even in the most unconscious fashion, we learn, discover things, process, etc. However, if I may share why I think parents make better teachers... 4. Teachers. The teachers do not care for all the aspects of my daughter's development as much as I do. There will always be a fear inside of me that my daughter is being ignored or worse, harshly criticized or unnecessarily humiliated and the attitude would be, "hey, all in a day's work". -excerpt from my blog post on why I want to homeschool (http://www.spinninglovelydays.com/2007/09/not-about-dream.html)

i would have to say that experience is the best teacher. most would agree that parents are good guides but nonetheless, once a person experience a certain situation, and it came out bad, then that person tends to avoid such and vice versa. so for me, i would say, experience is the best teacher.

Uh huh.. no doubt about it, parents are the best teachers in the world.. but there is another teacher that is quite on par with them but the learning curve is pretty much risky-er and very darn hard. That teacher would be life experience. Everything you learn on a book or from listening is never a complete learning if you have never really have a taste of it in your life. There are always rules and regulations for things but when you are doing it, you learn there are shortcuts and loopholes and redundancies. Ain't life just great?? You have the two teachers teaching you all the way and yet life never gets bored throwing new stuff in your way just to get you thinking all over again. Lolz.. Have a nice day :D

Yes! that is true... the best teacher that any child can have are his parents... a good example for a child is a hard job... but out of love and passion... this can be done.... but in reality... there are irresponsible parents... so it is the society that can teach a young one to be strong and be a good person... hoping all the experiences that they've gone through will be life lessons and make himself be the best that he can be... good day to all!!

That's right. I believe that because my parents taught me a lot of things about life. Now I have 2 sons and we (me and my wife) will do our best to be the best teachers to our 2 wonderful kids. Thanks to my parents because I've learned a lot from them and I will do the same thing to my kids.

We are influenced by those people who we keep close distance to and trust.Parents influence their children deeply by unconscious and subliminal approach. What they teach us most is their judgement of life's value and basical personality or principles in life. The simple way to teach children well is just to behave righteously as parents, personality display is more substantial than words to children.

Hi zeethegr! They say a baby learns as early as in the mother's womb. Before we ever see the world outside we have been learning them from our parents. We reinforce them as we grow. Sometimes we keep coming back to our parents for reinforcement and confirmation. Yes! Parents are the best teachers! God bless our parents!

Yup i do agree with you. They are the first sight for eyes when we see them just when we are born and we grow up with them. They teach us the first word, the first step, the first laugh, the first cry, and much more. They always guide us from right to wrong and they impart the first knowledge to us. I still remember the day when my mom taught me to write my first letter and my dad was teaching me how to ride a cycle. I can never forget those short and sweet moments and i sure do agree that parents are the best teachers.

While I agree in most of what you said, I can't agree on the ALL aspect part. Because not all parents are the same, I wish everyone has parents like yours and mine. But there are irresponsible parents, or others that can not be a good role model. So we should be thankful for good parents, and if we don't have good parents, better learn from someone else...
