A warning label on cell phones that state they may cause cancer. Representative Dennis Kucinich (you may remember him as a democrat running for President against Obama) is proposing a bill to do this and provide funding for more research. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/posttech/2010/06/lawmaker_to_introduce_bill_for.html?hpid=sec-tech Studies have gone either way on this issue. Since 1966 the United States has printed warnings on individual packs of cigarettes. Now in 2010, the use of cigarettes in public places has been banned in most states. Do you suppose that the state wide ban of cell phones is coming? I do know that many businesses and agencies post signs banning the use of cell phones in their place of business. As a long time smoker, I hope the states start banning those annoying cell phones. What do you think?

I think the warning label on cell phones is a great idea. I think too many people use them constantly all day long and they really don't need to. That is the danger. I don't think there will be a state wide ban on cell phones though. Too many people depend on them.

You can just hear the agruement coming, can't you? "That is second hand radiation." "Well, you can put on your lead earmuffs if you don not want to get radiated." (This was funnier in my head.)

When I got my cell phone (and I am a cheapskate who would not use it everywhere as it would cost money) I got the cell phones can cause cancer! etc and guess where the discussions came from ? India where almost everyone has a cell phone. There is some radiation but if one uses it properly, then one is in no danger. The trouble is that no one has set out the standards, that is no one whom I trust, except for a medical doctor and I would rather trust his word then that of a politician even though he ran against Obama. And I can see it coming, Obama makes a speech and says "Cellphones are dangerous and cause brain cancer. Unless of course, you are a democrat and believe in me, then you are exempt!"

I hope I am wrong, but I remember reading about the dangers of cellphone use, and these were mostly from people from India and there they use a lot more cellphones. So I figured it in that sense. It was sort of as they were naturally exempt (maybe the Indian diet) from the danger of cellphone radiation and the only way was for us to become exempt was to get this specific herb that only grew in India, cost an arm and a leg, etc. Then from what I read about the Democrats, the idea that Obama and the Democrats do not have to adhere to laws sounds feasible to me.

ive had the same cell phone for 6 years and the only reason i carry it ( when i remember to ) is in case something happens to my kids or grandkids, im short on the phone to the extent people think im being rude, no need to ramble on about stuff. what they should do is put an automatic switch on them so when a person goes over a certain voice level they shut off. these people that walk around in public places that think their sooo important that they speak loudly and obnoxiously should have their larynx removed. they also dont like my bumper sticker which states " shut the fu#k up and drive as$hole"

I doubt that we would ever see a state ban the use of cell phones. The businesses and government agencies that ban the use of cell phones have all something in common. Either they are big on security, or cell phones can potentially disrupt their equipment. Of course, the bigger question is if we do discover that cell phones cause cancer, how many people are going to actually give them up? I am betting very few people will actually give up their cell phones even if the research proves that they are cancer causing.

I hope cell phones that are placed directly on the head and to the ear will be banned. They are harmful, never mind using them while driving. Other countries have done studies showing them to be linked with brain cancer.
