Friends, most of us are afraid of house lizards, it my home there are some, one can see them crawling on the walls. My granddaughter loves seeing them; she calls them ‘bui’, means insect. These are harmless creatures, keeps our homes clean by eating flying and crawling insects, cockroaches. Some say the house lizards are poisonous, if it touches any food item it becomes poisonous too. Well I just don’t know how far it is true? Now see this 21 year-old Indian, who is fond of lizards. He loves them so much that he often puts them on his face and even in his mouth. Gross…He is well known in his village and people like to watch him play with them. Because of all that, they called him ‘Lizard Boy’ Do you have house lizards in your homes; are you afraid of them, think them as poisonous? What is your comment on this guy? Professor

I have very small lizards in my garden. I remember that once, one of them fell into my bathtub. I got a broom and a dustpan and took it out safe and sound. I´m not afraid of them but I think they belong outside. I played with lizards once in a while when I was very little. I remember my brother and me holding the tail until the lizard would make a fight for freedom and leave a still wiggling tail behind. We had heard that lizards could grow another tail and wondered whether a tail would also grow a lizard. Thinking of it now, I find that chidren are little beasts sometimes! When you tell me of this 21 year old "lizard boy" I think he must not be very bright. He is way past the age to play with lizards that way. I don´t think he loves lizards so much; I think he wants attention. And I pity him. He gets curiosity but not love from his peers.

Yes if you strike a lizard, the tail falls, keeps shaking for some time, the lizard gets new one soon, this Lizard boy might be needing publicity.. Thanks for sharing. Welcome always. Cheers. Professor

Thank you for giving me best response. If he´s not that bright, he lizard boy might need a bit of love, not atention. Dont we all seek that?

Hi, Professor2010. Are you serious? Is it really a guy that lives in your village that enjoys having lizards crawl all over his face??? I could never let anything crawl onto my skin like that. I am not too fond of lizards. It is great that the lizards protect your home from the bugs and insects. But, I would not want any crawling around my home like that.

We don't have lizards in our house, but I have seen some on the wall that is outside our house. It is actually really odd to me because I still live in the same city that I lived in while I was growing up (just six miles away from my childhood home) and we never saw lizards at my mother's house, but we do see them here. I'm not afraid of them and I don't think that they are poisonous, but I could be mistake because I haven't done a lot of research on them.

Hi professor, where I live there's a lot of lizards outside but inside they get lost and then die and sometimes I find their skeletons when sweeping. Since the most common lizards I find are small and green and I used to let them bite on my fingers(doesnt hurt at all) and scare girls away. That was so much fun but then the lizards got faster so I stopped doing it. As for sticking them on face and in mouth thats just gross and if you're gonna stick them in your mouth why not eat them, they're probably full of protein and calcium. :D Hehehehe

ho professor yes we have little green lizards here in California and they are very harmless, not poisonous at all. they often get in our houses and we just gently put them back outside. I sure would not put any type of animal on my face or in my mouth, that's gross. I am not afraid of them at all and feel they are doing good eating bugs and flies. We used to have one we called Elmer that kept getting in the library so we just left him be.
