I need a new job - any suggestions?

Ok myLot friends. For the last four years I taught enrichment classes part-time at a charter school. I am now in need of a new job and trying to decide what I should do. I have decent typing skills, and a lot of experience in many things from film production and live events to arts administration.
I am enjoying not being a teacher anymore as my life is a lot less stressful in spite of my lack of income. If I must work I would like it to be someplace that is not too stressful, does not require standing long hours or walking long distances (back trouble) or talking to people all day.
I only want to work part-time so I can continue my writing and other creative activities as well as my role as a museum docent. I recently became a member of the board of managers for YES, the YMCA's Educational Services. This organization teaches adults how to read and I want to still have time for that.
I guess it may seem like I am asking for a lot but I really need flexibility and I am out of ideas. I am too old and impatient to put up with some things -- like office politics and I am not interested in going back to school.
Part of the problem is that I am used to making a lot of money by the hour. Most enrichment programs pay between $20-25 an hour. I know most jobs will pay a lot less and demand more of my time.
Any ideas? Serious ones only please.

I'm only paid minimum wage, but I'm also only working part time being a home health aide. It gives me flexibility, to set my hours, and the job is such that if it were to become too physically taxing for me, I could always ask for a different client (not that I would be willing to work for anyone else - because I'm not nice enough to work for a stranger.)

What kind of training does one need to do something like that?

Hi, Canellita! I don´t know if this is for you, but I am very happy I joined this company more than 10 years ago.
It is over 50 years old, debt free and uses the knowledge of the top scientists around the world. If you, like me, like to take care of you and your family using absolutely natural products and at the same time give health information to others and/or help them to get a good income, this might be for you.
The good thing here is that once you do a job and taught someone to do the same as you, you can earn from it the coming months and years to come.
Many of my friends are using this as part time job and they can choose how much time they want to spend on it.
At least 95% of the people around us are not getting the optimal nourishment that their body needs, so the market is huge. Lots and lots of people suffer from overweight and depression and the kids and teenagers need the right food to be able to learn easier and cope at school.
The best part of this company is the information they give, and you get it from webinars and directly from your sponsor and in other ways.
Welcome to pm me for more info.

Hi, Canellita - I don´t like to sell either but I like to help others to keep healthy. The company I talked about is gnld.com - and some join it only to buy directly to get the products cheaper for their own family.
Here in Sweden we can´t buy all the great products, so many would love to buy from a person in their downline who lives in the USA or Canada.
Another suggestion, do you have any skill that you could teach? There are lots of courses that need teachers, especially during autumn and winter seasons. If you can speak a foreign language, maybe that could be a part time job.
I have worked as private teacher from time to time. Some company can hire one if they have a person with special skills who doesn´t speak the language of the country. I guess you could teach English to foreigners, at least I know you are good at writing..

Sounds a lot like Avon and all those companies that use the same model. I don't want to do sales. It would have to be something that paid really well by the hour.

LOL, I just spent 4 years teaching part-time at a charter school in the afternoon only to be told I am too negative and my services are no longer needed.
I really would like to just write full-time. If I had known far enough ahead that the teaching thing was not going to continue I would have spent the Spring term preparing for the summer and not have gone to Spain or not done some other things.
I really don't want to teach. I want something that doesn't require a lot of human contact where I can just provide my services and get paid.

Sounds like you have a lot of little different things already going on so not sure what would fit into this schedule that you have. Hey what about beig a dog walker? That's the only thing that comes to my mind at the moment. Not sure what the pay is for that or how you would seek out the opportunity.

LOL, I actually did that once. I starts ok and turns into an inconvenience. I guess what I need is something to make leaving the house worth it.
