--- I am so tired of responding with a lengthy OP to discussions that just get no response at all!!!
Why on earth are people starting 'discussions', that have the potential to turn into interesting discussions but they don't respond.
Some days I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall

I think a lot of people are just more focused on the money side of things, and assume that the more that they post the more that they can potentially earn. So as long as they have started their discussion, they do not need to go back and keep it up. I actually think that it is nice, when you can have a nice conversation going through your discussion, it makes it more interesting.
Even in my current situation, I am not trying to race through here and make more money, I am just enjoying the interaction with other people, thats why I spend so much time here, it's just nice and social.

lols. Old feelings. Or Feelings of the old.. hahahaha.
dear darling friend of mylot elite ! ... please bear with the lethargic few. ..
may be, as in democracy, the few are MORE ... :P ...(lols. did you catch my pun?)
=========== If you wish to bang your head .. please wait till you reach your son's apartment.. this old-age-home, is truly very fragile, and we don't get the funds to put new brick walls...
Every now and then, I get the feeling to REPORT everyone who does not bother to respond to any of the comments in his/her own topic.. but, rushes to start a PLETHORA / Flood of NEW TOPICS.
i THINK, if mylot rewards are for starting topics, .. they would be making millions.

are you really sure about banging? .. I have enough knowledge about cranial bones.. so, i would not bother about your HEAD. ... but, alas, I am not so sure about the modern constructions.. particularly after the twin-tower crash. ..
Let us not have a 7/4 .. after the 9/11 ... and, July 4th? American's DAY! ..

HI oldchem, I agree with you and sometimes I look at the discussions and if the host/es has not responded to any of the replys I don't even post a reply. I like the discussions. I have even deleted a couple friends because I didn't like their discussions, and not accepted a couple because of the picture they posted. When I post a discussion I always try to answer all the responses. Don't give up, choose wisely.

Ah old chem, I think it might be Summer cleaning! I just cleaned my computer desk and I have to say I am so discouraged with all the medical bills that are pilling up! And we have insurance! This is our copay part! I think what we had saved up to use on a roof just went for the medical expenses! well, off topic! Guess that would make a good discussion!
I really dislike when I post a comment and don't get a response of some kind. and yes friend spring/summer clean would be good!! But I am keeping you!!!!

Ha ha...liked your title! As you may have already learned by now, there are two sets of users over here: The first is those who start discussions and the second is those who start mere posts; there is an interesting flip side to this story which you can use to your advantage, once you identify which group the user belongs to. It's all pretty simple: myLot pays users for participation and nobody can deny the free money coming their way; interestingly, it is not the first group that helps you make money here, but the second one because they are the ones who bloat up the number of posts and hence leave you with enough choices to respond to as many discussions as you wish or can.
Now if you like being smart, do this: befriend the users from the first set and treat the second like business - i.e. respond to their discussions and never check back; that's how they would like it too. Whereas you'd want to be loyal to the first group and strike friendship with them. That will just about serve either of the main purposes people join myLot for.

Oh, man, I hope I am not on the offending side of the deal. I have been gone a lot, but I know I put a discussion or two up, just so people will know where I am and not forget me. I think it is a long learning curve for some, to get to where they realize that not only do they earn more, they have a lot more fun when they are commenting on the responses that are in their discussions. Please do not bang your head on a brick wall, it knocks out the mortar.

Hi Oldchem, Over the years I have been here I have responded to so many with an indepth answer only for it not to be aknowledged in any way and if these people happen to be on friends list I will turn the ntification off so thatI can intereact with people like you who not only respond but keep a discussion going by also adding extras to other peoplesresponses too which is what I always try to do, if I have time I will go into a discussion and give response knowing it will notbe answered if I feel what I have to say is really relevant but mostly don't bother anymore. The whole point of a discussion is the two way thing, you can also learn so much but reading others responses and different viewpoints. Don't get disheartened just become more selective in who you resppond to. With a new user Iwill always encourage them to respond to their responses and some get some ignore. I have also found that over the years you become really good friends with some people and I have in fact met up personally with another 4 myLotters who I never knew before and have spoken on the phone to some too. I don't let these people upset me, I just move on from them as at the end of the day it is their loss not ours eh! Keep smiling. Huggles. Ellie :D

When I first started here, I admit I didn't respond to everyone . . . only to those I felt there was something to comment back to. But now I try my very best to get back to everyone . . . I realize there is an etiquette to responding back to all who take the time to comment on our discussions. And yes, I have written many a lengthy responses to other people's discussions with no word back. Might as well have talked to a wall, right?!

much2say.. you are very welcome to my world Sir/Madam.
----------------
it is not required to respond to all the comments. But, if one just shows that he/she is reading at least one or two, before they rush off to start another topic, WE all would be very happy. ... but, this is meant for those who are not reading these.....
Mylot seems to have evolved into a mighty big wall.

Exactly. I check the discussions I've replied to quite often through my profile . . . I hate it when I'm awaiting for a reply on a "good one" but there ends up to be nothing [cricket chirping]. Yah, I just have to wonder if they're reading the responses too - all that thinking and writing - for what?! Maybe I should make a hole through that wall and take a peek to the other side . . . maybe I'll see you - hee hee!!

I don't expect responses all the time, but when some one asks a question, and your reply includes a question in order to help more and you get nos response, it is pretty obvious that people don't even bother reading their responses!!!!!
Think you and I have been talking to the same wall!!!!

Hello sweetie.
Promise me you will stay away from all the brick walls, please.
That is going to freaking hurt, you know.
I wonder the same, but wondering won't get us anywhere.
From now on we will take over the boxes and enjoy ourselves, okay.
TATA.

hello oldchem1!
i understand what you mean, and i want you to know that i am often here in mylot because of the interactions. I just like interacting with people who might be a world apart from me, but who connects with me through this social site.
it's a great feeling when you're involve in a nice discussion about things and its just frustrating when after posting, some people just leave it at that, just hanging.
me, i try to go back, even when i get busy, i try to check on my last posts and try to continue the discussions at hand.
hope other mylotters would be more like you oldchem1. it would be a nicer and more very interesting social web.

I ask the same thing, though sometimes i myself forget to respond to some of my discussions or don't respond for a few days. I just don't have the time sometimes. I would love to be able to make my salary here on mylot, but I don't think that will ever be possible haha. Maybe when I work part time doing shows i could... ponders =]

Yes I hate it as well. It is nice to know that people are appreciative of your response and as you said an interesting discussion could begin from your responses.I see there are a few that just post for the sake of posting and never get back to you. I always try and respond to peoples responses to my posts, so I let them know they are appreciated
