Girls/Women tend to giggle and laugh at men when in company. never when alone !~

Why is that so? ... Have you ever observed this? .. May be in an elivator, or on the escalator, May be near the Board-room, or near the Bath-room, May be when you are eating, or when you are seriously talking, May be you are got your bow-tie on, or MAY be you your zipper is not on.... -----------what ever be the situation, if a GIRL/Woman sees you that way, and, if she is alone, she will behave as if she is invisible, and just pass away. But, if she is with someother, or in company, she will wiggle, giggle, and make all fun, discreetly stealing a view at the innocent MAN.. tell me, tell me, why?

Hi, consultrainer. My guess is that the girl has a mad crush on the guy. Or they think that he is funny looking. Girls do this when they see a guy, it makes them blush and nervous so they giggle. That is just something that girls do.

lols. This is a hypothetical situation .. only. and, not a specific girl or boy .. involved in the story. .. I have a strong feeling that ALL GIRLS behave this way, where ever in the world they are. thanks for the giggles. .. i mean, response.

That's a 'girly' thing and everyone at a particular age does that just like boys would whistle at girls not when the boy is alone but when friends gather. Whereas the boys can face that boldly it is not so with the girls specially if she is alone and a pack of "........." are at her! All this will be left behind when both the girls and the boys take on the mantle of responsibility on their shoulders.

LOLS.. dear dear allknowing.. thanks for the response. it is not surprising to read the "..... " indicating the wolves .. :P now, .. IF what you said has to be considered, I wish, women should withdraw their demands of EQUALITY. gender equality cannot be existing, as long as there is a difference in these sort of behavior. IF a girl cannot walk alone, among a pack of ... boys, ... how is it equal status? -- just a question.

well, to make this discussion more lively, I would invite you to discuss. As long as we stick to the guidelines, none seem to bother about that. and, as the topic is about GIRLS and their behavior.. vis-a-vis the boys' behavior.. YOU should give out your feelings and elaborate ... now, .. if you still want to stand on the exclusivity of capabilities... GO AHEAD.

Gender equality should definitely be considered where men and women are both equally capable of handling whatever there is to handle. Sadly women have to fight for this. Having said that at the cost of diverting from your topic I would like to say that there are several areas where men and women have exclusive capabilities about which I don't think I should elaborate here!!

Must be that they couldn't ignore the fact that they were idiots so they laugh to clean out their stinking selves. They use their voice as a magic want to clear up their ugliness. One sharp opinion.

Don't take this seriously. ========== thanks for the sharp opinion. IT has pierced a bit deeper and more than you intended to send it..

Hmmm...I had never noticed it myself...but it's TRUE!!! I would ignore such things or quietly smile to myself when I am alone....but when I am with friends we end up giggling (yes...even though I am 34 and a mother of two kids!!!). Trying to analyse the situation, I think we hardly get to meet with our girl friends and when we do, we are already giggling over old incidents and this ends up as a continuation of the same. Or another explanation could be that we turn into teenagers again. When I was a teenager, I was always fearful of reacting when I was alone because I was scared of the men's reaction. But I gained strength in a group. It was like we were stronger then...and not the men. Okay one simple question...are u the man in the discussion?:P Did this happen to you??

i am not the particular man in the discussion. but, yes. .. it did happen to me quite a few times.. mostly in the railway station, or in the bus stand, when I was rushing, and then i find a giggly group of young girls.. and, then, get annoyed by their care-free behavior.. .. then, when the group splits, and I keep looking, I find the scare in the face of those left behind. .. all the DARE and LAUGHTER vanished. just fear! .. fear of MEN.. that pains me a lot! ... thanks SV... you are very truthful about yourself. ... unlike most women!

Though I'm female, I haven't been one of the gigglers. When I was a teen, I liked to be a humorous and loved to laugh when I could make others laugh, but it wasn't a giggle. I very much know what you are talking about. One of my relatives who flirts like crazy with this one man, she giggles non stop in this cute little way. It's called "bein' cute" and "flirting." When hearts flutter, so does the giggle. Or if you get nervous around guys, you giggle to calm yourself. Mostly, it's called flirtatious. So don't think you are being laughed at because you have a flaw or mistake. ;o)

this happens for the same reason a group of guys will look at a good looking girl and say lewd things, whisle and point. It's all part of the mating game.

In general majority of the girls are not excited to others, simply they do their work. But few are really different from the above, "Actually they have no special reason to laugh at others(especially at young boys like us), just to make fun on us" After their marriege they turned as serious face saltees.....
• India

an old pending THANKS to you .. ramesh ch ow ... I forgot to check out your topics. will do that tomorrow. it is already late now. and, have to finish off a page, elsewhere. ------------ now, thanks again, for the present comments in my topic. .. IF I have understood your response correctly, you mean to suggest that MOST WOMEN tend to giggle and laugh, without any specific reason attributed !!! .. .. and, what does the word saltees mean? please clarify..
• India

saltee means candidate or person, saltees is the plural.....

hey consultrainer, why always start discussions on girls/women? wats the point in it? why r u that much interested in them man? any way, coming to ur question, the reason is girls will get scared when alone. but in company they'll scare any one.

hahahaha. rajesh.. grow up faster dude.. you will know that all the world can be conquered ---if there is a woman around. and, I will agree to the scared part of it.. Did you observe, our other HYDERABAD friend, vandana .. is still no where around here. that is the proof of my hypothesis.

Women are more comfortable to giggle (ALOUD)/laugh (ALOUD)/make fun of something when we got a company or two. When we're alone with a guy, say in an elevator, and there's something funny about him or the situation, trust me, we have sense of humor. We can't avoid to take the situation lightly and giggle SILENTLY. Is there such thing? Yup, even MEN do that - haha. Sometimes though, when a woman in a group of friends giggles exaggeratedly, I find it irritating and I would take it as just getting everyone's attention including a guy maybe that tickles her fancy.
• India
4 Jul 10
so. ... you seem to establish the sense of humor.. quite a bit loudly. ... lols. thanks, as you too seem to be soft on us. .. YOU said, you get irritated to find some others doing so purposefully. we all have concluded, till now, from the responses around, that YOU WOMEN do that just to grab the attention. however, just one friend here said, it is mating behavior

It's a matter of self confidence for the woman. If they have a companion of course they will be brave enough to actually laugh at you. Woman have some sort of collective belongingness I guess. Most of the time they can do more things when they actually have another women. Usually this is for comfort so if they fail, they have somebody to back them up. This is more of a collective mentality per se.
• India
3 Jul 10
well well. you seem to be a very learned SOCIOLOGIST. .. GLAD and very pleased to have your comments here Friend! .. ========= My opinion is just the same. Women feel more bold in company, and tend to make fun of the innocent and poor men... LET me try to gather more about this collective mentality in women! ..

They don't giggle and wiggles when they are alone because they don't want to be considered as loonies.
• India

if they do that in a group, do you consider them not to be loonies? .. just asking. babasri.. congrats on the four zeros after one.

People in company, both men and women are braver than those alone. There is the old thought that there is safety in numbers. I have never laughed at anyone on my own or in company, but then I rarely keep the company of other women. I do not find other people's problems as funny but then I tend to be a loner. I am not overly fond of women who giggle at all. Have you ever noticed that men will oggle girls more when they are in company than on their own. In their case I think it is a case of trying to impress their mates with their prowess. It is simply a fact that people who travel in groups tend to be like this.

dong't think that way, man.Or you will be so disagree with the world, okay? Women are interesting creatures, sometimes, you just can't look through. But I think you can control your own mood, right? So think it anouther way: one they wiggle, giggle, is a way to show their interests in the man , they "laugh at" him because HE IS CUTE. hAPPY DAY~

thanks a lot, and, please don't just put me away, by calling me "man".. I am a male. .. okay, but, I think, by your calling me a man.. you are trying to implicate something wicked to me.

Have you observed also that when you walk alone and you remember something funny you smile and some even whisper; of course people who do not know you looks at you and maybe they think you're weird. So this just the same with the situation you're discussing. It's not just women, also men don't just giggle when he's alone. When you're with the company of your friends, you're happy, you giggle, you have lots of fun. You mean if a girl have a crush, she steals a look at the man she's kinda like. Why is it a crime to steal a look at the man you like? I think men also do this.
• India
6 Jul 10
thanks for the comments. .. i always put my hand, when I grimace and grin, when I remember something funny.. so that others will not find it to be an act of lunacy. lols.. it IS not a crime.. at all. It would be better, if you tell the compliments directly, instead of the discreet giggles.

Of course, it's just the same with the men. Men don't talk and laugh at women alone! C'mon guys, be fair! Sometimes men are more talkative than girls. Men are silent but when they are with their groups especially break time or drinking session, wow, the conversations are more different from women.
