Why do people post pictures on facebook

I post pictures and photos on facebook quite often because its nice to share some of them with my family and friends. Its nice seeing friends pictures too, especially those who i haven't seen for ages due to being busy. I have put on a few pictures in the past, but i generally put on photos.

I think that it is very unsafe to post pictures of a real person on the Internet. If you are an celebrity, author and anyone famous that is different. People always see you anyway in public regardless, so you can't hide from them. Some people post pictures because they want to show off in front of others..

People post pictures on facebook because it is a social networking site and sharing photos with friends is a social activity. Different people use facebook for different reasons.

I post pictures to facebook for the same and many of the same reasons listed by the other responders. I also post to picasa and other sites, I suppose it is something I do to share my happy and funny moments. I love to receive cutesy comments as it gives me a thrill to share all my wonderful moments!

People post pictures on face book because to know who they are.If we post picture of ours they will know that he/she is her friend and get many friends.When we chat with them we both of us can see our image and they will naturally feel to chat with us. They will get good information about each other and will become more closer.If we don't post picture they feel bored to chat because they cant see image of us they will ignore.

i'm a facebook user and the reason why i post my pictures on facebook is to share fun with my friends and for my friends to see how i have been doing lately and let them see what i've been up to lately..it's nice to interact when they comment on your pictures and the other way around...Some of the users would also post their pics for their friends to see and appreciate how attractive they are...=)

it is one of the many functions of social networking sites, sharing photos is actually sharing your life in a instant, others love to brag, about places they went, others are just fond of taking shots and sharing them to the world, some loves the accolades and praises (showing sexy body and beautiful faces), some make facebook their online storage facility, and the reason goes on and on..

The answer to this question is very obvious, since Facebook is a social networking sites people who join in here will most probably want to socialize with other people such as their friends and love ones. And one way of doing this is by posting pictures of themselves mostly and pictures of anything related to them. This way people on their Facebook list would know more about them and in this way communication would be a lot personal and much more fun.

I post picture on facebook to let my friends know that its me, because maybe their will be a certain situation that some user have same name as you, so its easily to let your friends know you. But I dont uplaod lots of pictures on facebook, because for me 1 is enough.

Some people make facebook their " PHOTO ALBUM " online. They share photos with friends. Also, it would help long lost friends to catch up on them after sometime of not seeing each other.

they just want to show their exist in cyber world. because they think facebook or another social networking is useful to make a relationship.

i post pictures in facebook because it's easier to show it there than to print it.

The main reason why I post pictured in facebook is to share them to my relatives and friends that are very far from our place or overseas. Its part of keeping in touch. You could say "Oh mom, our baby learned to sit today", but wouldn't it be better to show them a picture of your baby sitting down. That way they wouldn't need to imagine. They would actually see that pretty baby sitting. And the saying goes "A Pictures is worth a thousand words".

Thats easy, my entire family is on facebook. I like sharing photos of myself and viewing their photos. It helps everyone stay close.

The same reason people have always taken pictures and displayed them in photo albums. But with facebook, more of their friends can see then if they were just regular photos in a regular album at home. I think some people post though just for attention; they love the attention and comments they'll get. You CAN make pictures on facebook private, friends-only, or customize so only certain people can see. The whole world doesn't have to see your pictures on there.

Wow you must be a newbie since you only have a 1 next to your name. Its slow earning on here but its a legit site so welcome and I hope you enjoy it here! I love facebook. When I was first on there I would add photos to albums all the time but now that I've been on there about a year I stopped putting pictures up about 6 months ago. I dont know why I just never remember to put them on. I should do it more though so people who dont see me very often will still be able to see photos of my children as they get older. The only picture I put up is newer pictures of me for my profile. I change that every few months.

For me, i only put really important ones to me on facebook, just incase my computer brakes and all my pictures get deleted, i have alot of pictures on my laptop that i dont have anywhere elsa and atleast if the imprtant one are on facebook i can get some of them back :)

admittedly, i do post photos of me on facebook. First, i just want to share it to my family, friends and classmates, pretty much people that i really know and really knows who am i. Second, just wanna show my expressions, its sort of the way to show others what i feel right now, something like that. Well, thanks for the topic. Much Respect
