Hard work - success

Well different people have different opinions. As for me i am not sure whether i believe in luck of God. I have been in situations out of which i have narrowly escaped and i don't know whether it is luck or due to God's grace. If i ask my grandma she say's it's god's grace whereas my mom says it luck. So i really don't believe in either of them much. I believe in determination and interest in our work which wouldn't make the work "hard" at all.

I fill the same way. Never believed in luck, only your trust in God and doing what you know to do. Leave the rest in the Lords hands.

Hi, Jotomy, there is no substitute for hard work. But do you think all people who work hard are successful? No. If you work hard and work smart you can succeed. Do you think if you work hard and work smart you can always win? No, sometimes you can't, you can call it as bad luck. Some people who work hard but they are not smart yet they succeed, it can be called as luck or god's grace whatever. Some people who don't work at all yet they have all the money in the world. I would think 90% hard work and 10% luck. I think you can leave any mythical beings out of the equation

Hard work is a habit. Most kids today do not now how to work, they have never been taught, they are essentially worthless unless you teach them. They had to be taught to go to the bathroom, to walk... why shouldn't they be taught to work as well. We do a great disservice by not teaching them the value of hard work. One day they will have families and have to do it.

I agree with you Jotomy, Hard work is essential for a human to succeed in any thing, and without God's guidance and blessings, sometimes hard work may not bring the right out come. So its best to say "Do your best and leave onto God the rest". As far as luck is concerned, its just a fabricated made-up notion of humans.

jotomy work hard and God helps those who help themselves even as they pray for he rewards good with more good and may be a little l uck always help;s but it all starts with faith and hard work and sticktoitiveness to really succeed in anything you do.

Hello, In most cases, yes I do agree with you that hard work does lead to success, and I have to say, I'm not a religous person. I'm an athiest. Anyways, I run my own company, and I can tell you that if I have a week of slacking for example, sales will start to drop. So yeah, hard work is success. Same for any online work to, even here on myLot, if you want to succeed in reaching the monthly payout, you have to do a bit of hard work. (Although I don't think myLot is hardwork, as it's so much fun). But in some cases it doesn't always matter. In a previous job of mine, crunch time came along, one of us had to go, the other would climb the ladder in the company. I was so much more of a hard worker and proffesional worker than the other guy. So why did he get the job? Chumming up to the boss, that's how. So not always hard work, but doing things for the boss that is not in the job description ;) But I am slightly thankful for this, if it hadn't happened I would probably still be working there and not running my own company now. i surely agree with you. luck has nothing to do with our life, whether in success or in relationship. It all depends on our choice of action and through God's provision. Luck is for people who blame their lack of action toward things.

I think people often confuse faith with confidence. In order to be successful in something, you first have to set a goal, and then work tword that goal. If you aren't confident you can accomplish that goal, then what do you have? Nothing. When you say faith, you make it sound as if you believe hard enough God will make your goal a reality. You don't push yourself and therefore what do you have? Now if you are confident and push yourself to work hard that's different. If you allow yourself to believe you alone can finish and reach the goal you set out for yourself, then that's more likely to happen. If you don't do the work, the goal is that. Sure you may have people guiding you along the way, but thats not the same. In the end you're the one who is pushing yourself to become seccusseful. And, if you say you thank so-and-so for helping you get that far, do you realize what you are saying? You are saying you thank those who guided and pushed you to keep going. The "man upstairs" or "God" isn't going to do that for you, otherwise how one argue human beings have free will? It counds kind of counterdicting. Doesn't it? At least that's how I view this subject.

Hard Work & Smart Work & God's grace.. it would be pointless if we keep on doing the same old thing everyday that doesn't bring any results..we've got to be smart about it and also have the blessings of God and i'm sure anything that we do will be achieved

in my opinion, which is based on my experience on living my life, luck is the most factor that influence my life. and since "luck" is an area of Him, so that means God is behind of all this, and i have to put a goooood faith on Him. in summary, give my best effort on working and let God gives me a "luck" that He consider is best for me.

I beg to differ. It is 20% work and 80% luck. LOL. Hard work will only make one more busy and so where comes success? Without luck, one will simply work harder. With luck, one may strike it big and succeed. However, one needs to be really lucky to have the luck. Perhaps this is were god's grace comes in - to give one the luck one needs.

I actually tend to believe that luck does play a part in the success that we are able to find in our lives. Yes, hard work is very important, and more important than any other element of being successful in our lives. However, I think that our faith to get through the tough times is just as important as having a stroke of good luck while we are going through my life. I believe that the statement that you've shared is exactly right.

actually my thinking is li'l bit different .......i think there is nothing like god or luck ........its just our hard work....if we will work hard then only we can get succeed ......so for me the percentage above written is 100% hard work,0% god and 0% luck....i am sorry if someone gets hurt due to my words but thats my thinking and i'll never change it for anyone... happy mylotting

If a person has not chance(luck) ,can not only with hard work I know many people who work very much but often break things If you call now two craftsmen in your house to fix something,you will see the difference

success is all about a mix of drive, motivation, failure, and goodluck. Luck does have a meaning here. Because sometimes success depends on chance. Like opening a business. You might do well because your opening up Shop X with new never before seen products, however if Shop Y and Shop Z open up with the same products at lower prices, your screwed . Then hard work to keep your head afloat, then motivation to succeed during failure. That's my spin on it. Thanks for posting ^_^

i look at luck as something that is God-given. for me, a lot of what happens is determined by God. so if i fail, i simply accept that it wasn't meant to be and God has better plans. similarly, if i succeed in something, i think of it as something willed by God; especially those successes which i thought were impossible but ended up well.
