iam argentina fans since watch their performance in worldcup 90 in Italy. but iam always not lucky when my favourite team cannot show their best performance to get the tittle. i remember in world cup 98 when netherlands beat them 2-1 while i am thingking argentina had a potential to win the titlle. in world cup 98, they had a calibre players like batistuta, ariel ortega, veron, zanetti, ayala, diego simeone. but they failed too. in world cup 2002, their players had a world class quality like veron, aimar, zanetti, batistuta, but they failed too. in world cup 2006, again and again they failed. now they failed too..iam dissapointed with their performance. i think one of the biggest mistake now,is maradonna factors.

It is just a bad day for Argentina and a perfect game for Germany.

Yes, Argentina have always had good players. But as a team they have not really achieved much at major tournaments after the 1986 victory and the finals loss in the 1990s. In both the last two world cups they have lost in the quarters against Germany. Till the match against germany every one was actually praising the Maradona Factor. One loss and people have started blaming him. I do not buy that argument!!
Cheers!

Of course i am very much disappointed with the performance of argentina.I had faith in Argentina and also Brazil but the 2 teams lost very cheaply.Hope atleast in the next world cup the 2 teams will perform well.
Kudos to germany for lightning performance.

me too^^ was very sad that they lost with 4 goals. they didnt deserve it. i wanted my country to win, portugal, but when portugal got out of competition i was hoping that argentina won bcs they played really well in fifa from what i heard so i think they deserved not to leave like that. they could lose like 1 goal but 4 goals after they effort so much? that was not fair at all

sorry, but I just can't agree with you.they lost the game beacuse of their bad performance.Maybe they played well in the past games and maybe this team is not short of individual talents, but when they facing with GERMANY, all we can see is a team without teamwork. maybe there're not so many superstars in GERMANY,but they just did a great job and defeated argentina with a large margin. I love argentina and messi,I know this result is really painful but this also a good lesson to argentina

I am an Argentina fan too and I feel so sorry for them losing 4-0 to Germany. I think the result was far too unfair, even if the Argentinians didn't play their best game. Messi really disappointed me at this final tournament.

adhyz82,
As soccer is a team sport, I just do not think it is solely coach Maradona's fault for Argentina's failure to qualify for the finals or win the tournament.
To be fair, the players are also at fault for the poor performance and failures where one of it being that the players are unable to use their individual flair and gel as a team when it matters most. The team is no short of individual talents but you can see that the players were suddenly playing individually when the fell behind on goals. They should have played as a team patiently and start controlling the midfield, which the Germans were dominating.
Missing of chances is part of the game and when it starts getting into the players' mind and game - then it will be bad, so this is also another area how Argentina fell when players like Tevez starts thinking that no one is good enough to shoot with the ball. There were many times where he should have passed the ball and not held on to it for too long or take a shot.
I hope the Argentinians will learn their lesson here and that they will become a better and a stronger team in the next tournament.

what you said is quite right!however,if Maradona make smart adjustment to cheer the players up,the result will be different. i think his performance didn't show out that he has this ability.he is really a good player but not a good coach.

I, too, was disappointed that Argentina is out of the tournament. Not so much of getting knocked out but the margin of defeat. I would have thought they would put up a bigger fight. I have predicted them to win the cup and have stake a few wager on them doing so.

At first I thought Argentina would be the winner this time. Although I expected that there would be a hard match between Germany and Argentina but I still thought that Argentina could win it. However, Argentina lost the game with a huge gap. Hard to believe that the score is 0:4. I am very disappointed to the result. It seemed that the Argentina players didn't try their best to play the game. They seemed to be idle and was not very aggressive. Their attack and defense were also weak. I don't know what's wrong with them.
I love China
