The nikon and canon is a never ending debate. Both the companies are equally good at their jobs of making cameras.
If you like nikon then go for it. D-90 is anytime better and is the bestselling model till date.

Never mind what others people say for the things you want to buy or not. As long as you believe it is the best for you and you like it as you purchased it then congratulations you got one of the best cameras in life. You decide of the things you wanted to own then it is your best choice. Be happy of it.

I have a normal Canon camera but I am not pleased to its quality. It was fixed for few times. If I will buy a DSLR, be sure Nikon will be my number one choice. I especially like Nikon D90. It can not only take quality photos, but also record videos and this is very cool.
I love China

Both brands are great ,I use Canon products but have a few friends who love their Nikons. It is very important to remember that you are not simply buying a camera, you are buying into a system of lenses. It is for this reason that Canon and Nikon are famous, they have the biggest lens ranges by far. It is with the lenses that you will eventually be spending the big money so be very sure before you buy. you should check out www.the-digital-picture.com for reviews on both Canon and Nikon products with links to online shops and rental options.

I personally don't think you can do wrong with either. Both are fabulous brands. Usually Canon is seen a bit more user-friendly but Nikon has extraordinary quality. Yet again, I say either one will be great. Either is better than a Kodak. :)

They are both high quality cameras with a lot of international support. Really you can not go wrong with either, Right now I would choose a Nikon D90 mainly because it is starting to be discounted heavily by Nikon. This is due to the fact that they are going to be introducing its replacement later this year. It is also a more advanced cameras than the D5000.
Beyond the spec though, the most import factor in choosing a camera is ergonomics. It should fit comfortably in your hand and the controls and menus should be logical to you. Whatever camera best fits thee qualities is the camera for you.
