What drives a person to be a homosexual?

I have friends who are homosexuals, and they are gay, fun-loving people and does not care what people think about them. My view is that as long as you are living a moral life, then I don't care whether you are a man or woman or homosexual, as long as you fight for your right in the right way. If you are one, feel free to comment, what drives you, or when did you discover that you are one? Does it really come from the environment you live in? There are some kids who are in an all male family and then so the girl grows up to be and feel like a man instead, and same with living in an all girl family. What are your thoughts about this?

It could any of many reasons as some have stated here. God and the persons in this life choice know better than anyone else.

I know, we really cannot determine what or who influenced the individual to be a homosexual.

Im straight but I think being homosexual is no different to a stright person liking people who are tall, blonde, slim etc. I dont think anything "drives" anyone to be homosexual it is just something that some people are and some people arent.

I believe so too, they are who they are because of some factors that is yet to be determined. Thanks.

I don't believe that anything "drives" an individual to be homosexual. That's just who they are. People need to start accepting that.

I think so too, but not in all cases though.

Sometimes there is a chance it is due to your environment and maybe sometimes it is the way you are born. Though I guess it really just depends on your view, but I agree with you, it doesn't matter you are attracted to as long as you don't force yourself upon anyone, or do anything wrong.

I believe so that if a person does not do anything hurtful to another, then I dont have any problem.

As a gay person I can tell you what drove me to be gay, I've always been around girl since I know my self, I've been grown by my mom and granmom, I had only girl friends and I guess along the years I adopted their girly behaviour and thoughts. But there is one question which still remains, but drove me to be around girls in the first place? And that's when I start to think being gay has something to do with the DNA or behaviour a person is born with.

I believe its both, environment and DNA. OR maybe there's not a single answer but it depends on the individual.

First of all I'm not gay, bi or transgender. I honestly believe a person is born homosexual and they don't choose to be this way, its just the way they are. If everyone could think about it who would want to or choose to be this way. To be treated like second class citizens with no rights at all. Come on, why can't people realize this already. People can't help this no matter how much they try to fight it. It's not going away and if they want to be happy they have to come out of the closet and deal with it as best as they can.

I agree that the best thing is for people to accept who they really are and believe that they can do it. Some are just scared to come out because there are still conservative people, mostly influenced by some religions, that do not accept them as a creation of God. That is pure discrimination although I respect their beliefs since it is with their religion. We must in return, also respect homosexuals as they are.
