Once You Have Reached Your Monthly Target Do You Respond Less?

I have noticed this more and more, especially the last 2 months or so. When I first started here on MyLot I put more of an effort in because I was so "aware" of what the target was each month and was determined to prove that I could do it.
Now that I have become more familiar with the site I do not create or respond to as many discussions as I did at the start. That is not to say that I don't find it enjoyable...far from it...but nowadays I suppose I am more relaxed about being here.
How about you? Do you say "phew!" when you reach your monthly target then ease off? I'd love to know although we're not allowed to tell each other how much we are earning. I just want to know what your feelings are..whether your habits have changed since you signed up?

I must admit that yes, my activity does slow down once I know I've reached the monthly target. Like you, it's not because I don't like it here. It's nice to make payout each month, so I strive to reach it. An extra $10 in the pocket is very nice to have! It's going to be my first payment on the 1th though. I've only been here a little bit more than a month!
I all ready completed two tasks for the payout of August. They haven't been approved or rejected yet--they're still pending. Usually they go through pretty fast. It's been days.

Confirmation yet again that it IS possible!
My most active ref made his first payout within his first month too and is now waiting for his second - and he doesn't do the tasks!

I've exceeded the $10 payout by quite a lot too! (But I do the tasks) I think I could make the payout with just discussing, but I think it'd be harder.
That's amazing that he made payout out his first month without tasks! Kudos to him!
Any reason why you think the tasks are still pending? Do they not change status until the payout date? I STILL feel new here.

Nothing has changed for me...I don't worry about cashing out every month. I like coming into MyLot to take breaks from my online earning projects. This is a great place to relax and visit with friends. If I happen to get paid it is an added perk

Well it's the same with me but once you reach the target do you slack off a bit? I suppose it depends on how skint I am. Sometimes I'm not that bothered and other times I am but I try not to let that detract from my enjoyment I get on this site as I have learned such a lot from fellow members. Such an entertaining bunch!
Another way of looking at it could be..if the target isn't reached one month that's more the following month. Would you be here if you weren't getting paid?
One thing I never do, however, is count how many discussions and responses I make in a day. Now, that would be just sad (joke) lol.

Yes, this is like a forum community...and most of those do not pay. This is a great community to meet like minded individuals. I earn online for a living...my time as far as money is concerned is better spent elsewhere...but I enjoy this community and that is why I come here

@Janey: I would be here if the site didn't pay now that I'm a member. But I originally signed up to earn money, so I probably wouldn't have joined from the beginning. I really do love it here and I've learned so much and wouldn't trade it for the world, even if they stopped paying us.
@Arlene: I agree that most forum communities don't pay, but I love this community the most. I have found another paying forum that I visit often as well though.

I try to stay up to date with all my notifications. And I hate it when I can't respond for whatever reason (like the latest computer problems...)
I don't think I let up if I pass the "magic" number, but I do know I push a little extra if I'm almost there and the end of the month is coming!

Thanks for your honesty. I'm exactly the same as you my friend. Don't worry about your computer problems, we all have them from time to time.
It can be frustrating though, I agree.
At least you are here now, which is great!

I mostly don't pay attention any more. Actually, I wouldn't have made it last month if it weren't for Holly's contributions.

I can identify with what you say about your slow internet provider. With me it's my actual machine that slows down but it has a good excuse, it'll be 9 years old in September lol.
I also have problems uploading my own photos onto MyLot. I'm fine with internet photos but not with mine. I check to see what the MB is and it's always below 5MB and it's frustrating because I have a really good photo of a horserace I saw over weekend that I want to share with everyone.
Ah, well, no-one will ever get to see it but me..such a shame!

I have noticed just the opposite. It seems that when I want to reach my goal, I can´t think of any thing to say or answer. As soon as the pressure is over, I can type like mad and talk to everyone the way it should be: as friends. So, forr me, it seems that the goal is to get past the goal to really start having fun.
Take care and happy posting.

It happened to me too when I had my shoulder surgery. Normally I save my online earnings to be used once a year on my vacations and have the rest under control. But my surgery meant extras and I had to get it from my vacation money.
Still I managed to go for 10 days to the south of Chile, my country, and bathe in hot water Springs.
Take care and I hope you won´t have urgent money need in the future.

I don't normally bother that much about reaching the monthly goal but I did this time, purely because I needed the money. This is embarrassing to admit but there you go..yes, the pressure is off now so I can relax, just like you suggested I would. Take care yourself my friend and thanks for your post.

My first thought when I read the discussion, gee, does mylot has a set level of activity. If so, I need to find out what it is. Then as I read the first page, I found out you were referring to a personal goal. Right now my goal is payout every 2mo. I have no downline, so it is just me. As I continue learning how to earn more effectively, payout each month is my goal. Will I back off, if I reach payout early?
NO, I enjoy it too much. I'm slacking off for the next two weeks, as I am out of town visiting relatives. Won't be able to spend 2hrs or so on mylot. I'm going to miss it.
Prosperous mylotting

I misunderstood you. I call the figure of $10, Payout. I know it will take me 2mo right now, at least until I get at least one active referral. Then I can probably reach payout in one month.

I did actually mean MyLot and its monthly goal. I don't set myself monthly goals but MyLot does and if we don't reach it the money rolls over to the next month. I just wanted to know what happens when people reach the monthly target, do they slack off slightly (which is what I do) or do they carry on responding as much as they did before.
I apologise if the discussion topic wasn't clear. Hope it is now lol.

I did participate more when I first started than I do now. I still do participate, but I just don't post as much as I did before, as mylot isn't all about earning anyway. I do enjoy being here, and the thing of it is, I have other sites to do, so I will take breaks from here to do them, and I have also be doing crocheting. When I do get tired of crocheting, I will take the time to come back in here and work for awhile. I really like mylot, and I am glad that I joined it. I only wish I had joined it sooner than I did, but now that I am here, I am not going anywhere. I will kind of slow donw though once I reach payout, but I don't stop all together. I just couldn't stop posting in here, that is for sure. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I know what you mean, it can be quite addictive on here but I always try to respond in a thorough way (some would say boring) but I just can't type one sentence and not really answer a question, I'm not even like that face-to-face.
Good luck with your crocheting, what a great skill to have my friend.

@Janey: I agree with you. I can't type just one sentence either! I feel that just isn't enough. I need to say something that I can discuss. That's the point, isn't it?
@Rose: I definitely was on here a lot more a few weeks ago than I am now. I think that might now be because I'm working and when I et home, I just don't feel like using my brain. But, I do make it on here once a day anyway, to see if I have anything to say.

I do admit that when I first started on here, reaching payout each month was definitely my goal. On the other hand, I mostly did tasks and very rarely participated in discussions. When the tasks I was doing stopped, I almost stopped doing this site, but I decided to give the discussions a try for a little while, even though I really didn't think that I would like them. It turns out I was wrong, and now I am having a lot of fun here. Therefore, it doesn't matter whether or not I have reached payout, I just come on here and do what I do and don't worry about it.

Oh, thank you so much for the compliment. I like the name, too, because not only is it a contradiction in terms (just as I can be at times) but also I like the mental image that I get when I think about it. Besides, I just think that "alabaster" is a fun word to say ... it almost sounds like you are swearing when you say it.
I have to agree with you that I have a lot more fun interacting on the discussions than I ever had doing the tasks, although the tasks did pay better in comparison. Still, I would rather be having the fun than just doing the tasks, because I look forward to coming here every day rather than just looking at it as something that I have to do to earn a little money.

Good for you! I had a go at tasks but don't do them anymore. I have more fun interacting with people in discussions instead. The freedom to go where I want on the site is also very good; it isn't restrictive in any way.
I'm glad you like contributing in discussions. I've always loved your name, it's one of the most memorable on here I reckon.

Hi Janey..I have never received on of those because I have never hit it. I set mine so high that I may not even live long enough to receive one those emails. I have been here for a year if that gives you an idea of how high my target is. I am only a tad over half way there. It was probaby a mistake doing it that way but I dont like to deal with small amounts. I'd rather have a large amount so that I can actually do something with it. In this case, however, it will probaby be used to have someone at the "home" feed me or some other horribe task!

I don't understand. Do you mean that you keep the money you have earned in PayPal because, as I understand it, once you reach the monthly target it gets transferred from MyLot on pay day? Or are you saying that you haven't reached MyLot's monthly target?

I dont really have a target earning here on mylot. I just want to be here and participate in the discussions for the most part. My earnings are my second reason for being here now. I find mylot to be a great place to be just because of all the things I can learn about from the users and then with the information I can learn how to apply it if I want. Just using mylot does not earn me a lot but because of mylot I have earned more outside of mylot.

You mean other people telling you about different sites you can earn from? That makes sense and I am glad you have had success with them, good for you.
People can be very helpful on here in so many different ways.

I don't really have a monthly target and don't really worry about how much I am posting on here and how much I am earning. I just post replies to topics that interest me and the money is an added bonus. I am quite regular and post everyday, as long as I have the time.

No, not really. I've just reached payout, and I continue to respond to as many discussions as I can. I don't really respond to less, because I've reached payout. I enjoy being on mylot, which is why I'm always active and will always respond to as many discussions as possible.

It is quite addicting isn't it, this site? When I'm at Mum's (sometimes for 2 weeks at a time) there is no computer at her house and I often wonder what the MyLot community is up to. I do get used to not being on a computer as it's actually a nice break for me but as soon as I get back here I log on and the first site I visit is, yes, you guessed it, MyLot!

Sometimes it gets so stressful to post and respond as many discussions in order to reach payout. I usually do not have the patience of posting and responding just in order to reach the minimum payout. I only post a reply when I like the topic and I have something to talk about it whether or not I reach payout. It would be great though to reach payout every month. If I already reach payout I still respond to the discussions which I like.

Yes, it can get stressful at times but if I did not enjoy myself on here I would probably give it a rest for a few days then come back to it. I do this whenever I visit my Mum so it forces me to have a break as there is no computer at her house. It helps me each time I am there.

Hi Janey,
Yes, I tend to slow down a bit during the beginning of the month because I have just been paid and I feel that I deserve a break at least for a short time. Then when it's near payout again I tend cram and work double time in reaching the payout for the next cut-off.
