I recommend Dell laptops because it's been in the industry for a long time and developing its technology to create optimal configuration for a wide ray of consumers. You can check this link to see top laptop reviews http://top7listing.blogspot.com/2010/06/top-7-laptop-reviews.html

the Apple laptops are the best rated from what i've seen from consumerreports.org. consumerreports.org is a very reliable source for product ratings. they are not paid and don't accept money from corporations to say good things about their products. consumer reports is entirely independent and only gets their funds through regular people who subscribes to their website online or buys that yearly book rating products through so many different catagories. they have no corporate influence. they test all products and compare each of them to the other. they have also never lost a lawsuit from so many corporations who have tried to sue them for giving their products low grades.

For me the best for portable computer brand ever are on the brand of Apple, Inc.'s portable computers. Like the MacBook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. These brands of portable computers by Apple are suited for anybody that wants portable computing everywhere they go aside from being just on own desk. The battery life can last for more than 4 hours of straight usage. The screen display and also the Fonts are good for the eye sights. Even the cheapest model "MacBook 13 inch" can do a lot of things you ever wanted done with justices for quality, performance, stability and security. With the combinations of Operating System the Mac OS X and a ton of useful sense of applications and softwares.

Alienware! Although I don't have it which is a bummer T_T. Anyhow, I've experienced using it. It has the best display, graphics, and sounds since of course it was designed for gamers. But even though you're not a gamer or something, I still think you'll enjoy the good feel of the graphics and display.

Completely depends on what your looking for. I love my VAIO because its very balanced but from what i've seen Alienware is the best for gaming. just depends on what you want
