Moving to new house - any advice?

If the deal goes through, we are going to move to our first house. Exciting and afraid at the same time. I wonder if you guys have any tips for me? Moving, switching to new thinks, trying something new - I can use anything that saves me on costs. The house is not big, but has a huge back yard. Any ideas how to take care of the house and yard with minimum expenses? Every advice is much appreciated.
