Haven't had enough sleep last night. An electric post here in our street sparked and almost caught fire. It was 6 houses away from the place that I'm staying. Couldn't sleep with the noise. Then minutes later, fireman yelled "fire is under control". So I managed to sleep for about 2-3 hours. Then early this morning, here comes the firetruck again. Whew, the post sparked again. And the thing is, the firetruck couldn't pass because of illegal parking of tricyles and vehicles here in a very narrow street. I told the fireman when they stopped infront of my house, "go bang that vehicles, it wasn't suppose to be there and this is an emergency". This is so disgusting, those owners where told before that they are not suppose to be parking there but they won't listen. One thing that's so annoying is, people living near the electric post, keeps on calling the firemen everytime this happen when it is supposed to be the electric company that is providing the electric here is concerned. One thing is for sure, they don't want to let the electric company to discover the illegal connections that they are doing. Those illegal connections causes the transformers to overload and may cause further damage. I think we all have to be fair. We've been paying large amount for what we consume and some just steal.
This is not a rant, I just want to express my feelings now, for I am so irritated. I have a phobia with fire for 7 years ago, our family compound caught on fire and all that was left was ourselves.
Blessed day everyone.

hmmmp... hi best...
have you seen the last discussion i made? that is about my youngest son. and that made me and my wife to get less sleeps last night. his apnea is getting worse again, after we stopped giving him medicine, as told be the doctor. you see, 6 month medication period is over and yes, it made him sleep better and so we were.
you know, there are really some people who take advantage of some services. not only with the electricity, but also with cable tv services, water, etc. the authorities should really be doing something to stop them. they are not only stealing but also fire hazards.

Yes best, I saw your discussion last night. As I was about to post my comment, they shut off the electricity. Whew, and now I forgot all that I've typed. So, what are you planning to do with him? I think he should continue his medication.
I don't know with the authorities if they're dumbed or what but I know they know about this, with a little money, they would let this illegal connections pass. It's really disgusting. Anyway, here's some hugz for you best.

Hello, dhangski!
I can fully relate to your situation for I had experienced the same not just once when I was still living and doing business in Sta. Mesa, Manila. Areas like such have lots of narrow side/interior streets and are thickly populated. And like what you said, rampant illegal electrical connections results to transformer overloads and sparks on electric posts.

I understand since I had the same worry when there was a fire along a secondary street near my computer shop several years ago. Firemen responded pretty fast but it took some time before they were able to get through due to illegally parked cars. If only people are more responsible -- know that having proper parking is necessary when buying a vehicle -- such things will not be problem.

what an annoying night you had experience my friend. Just woke up but still lying on bed while I am making this post. It seems I don't want to stand up and go our cafeteria for breakfast. I want to sleep whole day because my boss last night inform me I can have my day off today. How happy I am when I know the goodnews. LOL
Anyway, I hate your neighbor. Maybe you need to make a move to stop that illegal connections they made from the electric company. They are using it for free. Don't you know that the loss current supply will be paid by all the consumer of that particular electric company? it will be subdivided by all consumer. The company didn't lost anything but the consumer losses money to pay the consumption of others. You want to pay for them? Of course you will not. What if the time comes the fire will wake you up and it,s near your house or room. Can imagine what will be your reaction. Hope it won't happen but if that stealing continue there's a possiblity it will really happen friend.
Happy mylotting!
Best Regards,
HULYO

i agree at least notify meralco of these illegal connections and request them not to reveal your identity so that they won't hit back at yah. fire will happen again unless illegal connections are stopped.

Hi dhangski,
Nice to see you, I am so sorry you are having all this problem, I don't know how they are getting away with stealing electricity, in the UK, you just cannot do that, yes in the old days you can because of the meters, but it is impossible now, these people should be made to pay back what they stole, hope you will have a better night tonight. Hugs.

Hi tamara, I missed you and my friends here so I told myself, I am here for good. Just woke up and for the first time, I managed to sleep for 12 hours straight. As far as I know, once you were caught here stealing electricity, you will be charged thrice the amount that you are consuming. I hope the electric company will know sooner who amongst here in our place who is doing that. It's rampant here and it's not fair for those honest customers. Hugz for you too my dear.

Hello dhangski,
How are you? Illegal electric connections can really do cause fire. i believe meralco. am sure they will get upset about this and have people arrested instead of the one who started the fire. this is offense alright. that's our societies problem we lack discipline and because of that these things happen.
I am glad you made it out alright.godbless you too.

Hi knight, I'm okay now though still annoyed by what happened last night and this morning. I saw meralco service men this morning after the incident as I was passing by on my to the market. I don't know what happened after that, but I hope, it gets resolved. Thanks for the concern my friend. I'm still shaking till now...phobia? trauma? I don't know. It's been years since our compound was razed by fire but until now, I'm still shaking whenever I here siren and sees firetrucks.

If bikes were in the way and that happened here, the police would just pick them up, and haul them away.
We had a transformer spark, and cause a pole to FALL, not too long ago.
Last night it got so hot here, that our fire alarm was set off by a heat censor. We live 100 feet away (no kidding!!) from the fire department on one side, and the police station on the other, and it still took 45 minutes for the fire department to respond.

I totally understand your point at all, if I am only in your shoes I would feel the same thing. It is annoying that others does not consider the fact that they could harm anybody else if they still continue that illegal connections. Here in our place it is really often to have fires too but of course I'm a bit scared even though we haven't experienced that but I could really imagine the feeling as well.

Feel sorry for your trauma...
anyway its really bad to steal...
and stealing electricity...is cheating...both the company and other customers..who pays for it...
so they are making others just fools...
why don't you people just complain about those illegal connections anonymously...
it must not be allowed..
we often have power failures in our area too but not due to overloading...
but some crazy men usually the company employees...remove the fuse...when they get over drunk I think so ..just kidding..may be..
in our locality the electric transmission is not hassle free..lots of troubles everyday repair works....can't just get enough sleep..esp when the power failure is at night..
nowadays I don't even get to know when the power fails...I just got with it..
thanks for sharing..
have a great day/night...
