Do you always watch the entire movie?

When you find a movie boring or if you just don't like it do you still watch the rest of it? Or do you quit watching it? In what situations do you quit watching a movie?
If I find a movie boring or hard to understand I usually keep on watching it, because I think that it might get better or I might understand it better after a while. If the movie is more violent than I expected or full of disguting scenes I tend to give up pretty quickly. I like psychological horror movies, but I don't really enjoy movies that are full of blood and violence. I don't movies about animal cruelty either, I simply can't stand watching it, and I quit watching that kind of movies straight away.

depends on the place where i watched the movie.for example if i watch it in cinema and i find that movie boring i will still continue watching it because i paid for it.it such a waste if i just quit watching it.if i watch it at home and the movie is kinda boring at the mid of the story you will find me fall asleep already.i love to watch all types of movie except for the dull and boring movies.

Yes, some movies are boring. I have watched many great movies, but sometimes I get disappointed and sometimes the movie is different from the way that I thought. I especially remember one movie that my brother and I watched in the cinema, it was extremely boring and a waste of time. I never understood the plot and it was extremely strange and confusing.

i usually do watch the entire movie. but if it's really, really boring then i don't. if it feels like i'm not gonna like the movie, i just don't start watching it unless there's nothing else to watch. i always think that i would want to broaden the movie genres that i watch as i only watch romance, comedies, romantic - comedies and dramas. i always resolve to watch more serious movies but i never succeed in it.

yes, that's what i think too. that i might like them. like trying new things that ii haven't done before. but i never put this into action because when i see some movie on my genre that's playing already, i can't stay away from it. :)

I think that it is a great idea to broaden the movie genres that you watch. I think I ought to do that sometimes, because I also tend to watch the same kinds of movies all the time. I especially like dramas, comedies and psychological horror movies, but I guess it would be a good idea to watch other genres sometimes. I might actually like other movies than the movies I always watch

Hi Porcospino. You have a cool user name For me, if a movie is boring I would also watch it through to see if it get better at the end. I recently watched Grown Ups and it was a little boring at the beginning but it got really good near the middle. In the beginning, I almost wanted to skip it and watch something else but now I'm glad I waited and watched the whole thing.

I don't know Grown Ups, but I have had a similar kind of experience a couple of times. I was about to skip the rest of the movie, I found it boring and I didn't understand it, but I am glad that decided to watch the rest of it, because it got better after a while. I am happy that I decided to watch the rest of it...

i walked out of the hall a couple of times---it was a much hyped movie and bought the tickets in black about twice the actual cost of it and damn it turned out to be the worst one so i was left with no option than to walk away than to spoil my mood watching it till the end.there have been times when i had a nice sleep lol---one of my friends forced me to that movie and glad she enjoyed it haha.great day.

I understand why you abandoned that movie, some movies are so bad that it feels like a waste of time to watch them. Some of the movies that my friends want to watch are really boring, when that happens I usually daydream or think about something else, but taking a nap could also be a solution

It depends on the situation, and sometimes the movie itself. Technology has made it so easy for me to stop the movie if I don't want to watch it. Like if a movie is on TV and I'm becoming bored with it, all I have to do is turn the channel. And if I'm watching a movie online and don't want to watch anymore all I have to do is close the internet window where the movie's playing. But if I bother renting a DVD/paying to watch it I tend to continue watching the movie, even if I'm not too thrilled with it/find it boring. I don't think there's ever been a situation where I've bothered to rent a movie and not finish it. I guess if I don't finish it I feel like I'm wasting my money. I also tend to keep watching a movie even id I don't really like it when I've borrowed the movie from a friend or something. I guess I just feel it's courteous to finish the movie if someone was kind enough to let me borrow it.

I feel the same way if I borrow a movie from a friend, I think it is nice of my friend to let me borrow the movie so I want to watch it to the end. I haven't finished all of the movies that I have rented. It is true that it is a waste of money if you return the movie without watching all of it, but if the movie is very violent or gory I sometimes prefer to return it without watching the rest of it.

once i started them, i usually watch until the end. but to make sure that i'm not getting myself into hours of gory stuff, i check the synopsis first; and watch trailers and read reviews, just to play safe.
so far so good for me.
i do the same thing for books. once i start on it, i read until the end. it's like my way of showing respect to the writer.

It is good idea to read the synopsis and the reviews. Sometimes I only read a short introduction of the movie before I watch it, and that can lead to some unpleasant surprices when the movie is more violent or gory than I expected. Sometimes I read about a movie that sounds really interesting, but when I watch it is turns out to be very different from my expectations. I have watched a few movies that turned out be really disgusting, and I didn't watch the rest of them.

I will abandon a movie if none of the characters interest me, and if it's agonisingly slow. I will do that even if I've paid for it. I will also do it if the movie is somehow proving intensely irritating to me: for example, I can't stand being manipulated by a movie. When it comes to violence, I will often cover my eyes during a violent scene, if the movie has other virtues such as a great plot and suspense and intrigue, but if the whole movie is centred around gross cruelty or violence, I will either fast forward like a madman or bail out. The way I see it, life's too precious to waste time on movies I cannot abide. Thanks for an interesting question.

I also cover my eyes if there are gory, violent or disgusting scenes. Sometimes I like to watch the rest of the movie, because the plot is interesting, and I don't want to abandon the movie completely, so I can relate to that. When I pick the movies that I want to watch I try to avoid movies full of violence, but sometimes the movie is different from my expectations. I remember a few movies that were really disgusting, and I knew right away that I wasn't going to watch the rest of them.

I don't know any movie I have ever walked out on, but I don't go to horror movies.
My parents walked out of one movie because they found it offensive, and I would agree, it was aimed at a much... cruder... audience than my parents, very juvenile humor.

Your parents' experience sounds like a movie I once watched. My friend found it very, very funny, but I didn't like it at all, and it was pretty obvious that it was aimed at an audience that was younger than us. I regret spending my money on that movie, but at least my friend liked it.

As a rule I never give up on watching a movie, with the exception being if I am too shattered to make it through to the end without dropping off. Even when a movie bores me I will continue watching in the hope that something interesting happening. And quite often I will watch a bad movie again just in case I was just in the wrong mood the first time around.

I do the same thing if I find a movie boring. I usually keep on watching it anyway, because I am thinking that it might get more interesting after a while or that I might understand more of it if I watch the rest of it. You wrote that you sometimes watch a bad movie again, actually it is my experience that I sometimes have a different opinion when I watch a movie for the second time, so that sounds like a good idea to watch it again in some situations.

I usually do watch much of the movie when I am able to watch it. I am not okay with all the gory and violence. I can take a little bit but if it is too excessive then I will turn off the movie and do something else. Cruelty to animals and people is wrong and I won't watch those kinds of movies either.

We seem to have very similar thoughts about this topic. Animal cruelty is something I feel very strongly about, and I simply can't stand watching it or listening to stories about things like that Sometimes I get surpriced when I discover than a movie is much more violent or gory than I expected, and in those cases I usually quit watching it.

That really depends on the quality of the movie. Some indie movies just stark boring, and I would give up on watching the entire movie quickly. It might just waste of time on keep watching it. So, that is my personal habit.

Sometimes I wish that I had done the same I especially remember a movie that my brother and I watched together. It was really boring and strange, and it was so hard to understand the plot. When we talked to my mother about that movie she said: "Oh, did you really watch that, I heard that it got really bad reviews" I wonder why

hello there!
if the movie interests me then i absolutely would but if it dosent then i'd stop watching the movie, what for? its just a waste of time. hehe! i love to watch movies that deals with love and has a funny twist on it, i love cartoon and animated movies. im not that into horror films coz it'll scare me and at night i tend to have nightmares, i also love action comedy movies but not into pure action and suspense coz most the time i don't easily understand the main storyline for reasons that i dont know..hehehe
happy mylotting =)

I also like movies with a funny twist, and I like to get surpriced. I have watched some movies where I thought that I had figured everything out, but when I watched the end I discovered that I didn't understand the movie at all. I love that kind of surprices. I don't watch a lot of animated movies, but my husband like to watch them and sometimes him and I watch them together.

Generally I do but sometimes I really can't stand to watch on, if the story is so bad or the acting is annoying then I won't bother to watch it. I like indie and B movies but those where the actors just overreact in the sense that they just put to much expression into the acting, speak like their shouting then it's a case of bye bye.

Too often I watch it all the way through. I can specifically remember two films that I did this.
I remember thinking: "Everyone said this was good. It must get better at some point. With so many good reviews, it likely gets better before the end. It has to get better at some point. It can't be awful the entire film"
By the end of the film I'm thinking:
"*#%@#% @#$&@(#$ and %@#*&$@*(#$ I just #$*@#$ wasted *%#@#% two hours of my life for @#*$@# and @#@($#*$&???????"
Now I typically never see a film that EVERYONE says is great. I normally wait until I see enough clips from youtube, or somewhere, to know exactly what I'm going to see, and that it will be worth it.

well, as long as i could remember, i have always watching movies till the end.
why? actually it's not because the moview is good or bad. it's just i don't want my money spent become wasted. so, i try to enjoy the movie, and when there are scenes that are disturbing, i usually close my eyes.
