Torturing Taj

Oh HORRORS!!
Taj had something on his back left leg and he wasn't getting it licked off. So we grabbed him and I held him while "V" went after whatever it was with a wet paper towel. You'd have thought we were TORTURING him!
He was hollering at being man-handled, getting his leg WET (with cold water, by the way) and just being held down. And on the whole, he's normally a pretty quiet cat.
Some of the other cats were making worried noises at all the drama he was making. He tried to bite me, but he has no teeth so that did a lot of good. We FINALLY got it mostly off and let him go. "V" SWORE he was calling us some pretty nasty names!
When's the last time you tortured a cat?

Oh they are such drama queens/kings!
-
Getting medication down a cat with teeth, claws, and packing bad attitude is not easy either.
-
One of my mother's felines can actually add speech to the drama. I've heard him on the telephone actually saying, "OUT! OUT! OUT!"

Then there is Sassy. Mom's little black cat Sassy can open cupboards. She will crawl in, and appear out of a drawer below or above said cupboard like an inquisitive ink streak.

If not feeding them constantly counts, then it happens on a daily basis. If you mean standing up and moving around so Tiger cannot sit on me, that too happens daily. I have not washed them lately. Three weeks ago I took Tiger to the vet for a bite wound and she did some pretty intense cutting and gave him a shot, so that was torture. They think it is torture when I put flea preventative on them, and I am very tempted to start trying to bathe them. I am just a meany. What does Taj eat?

Not me personally, but my neighbor last night. We were sitting outside and Toth made herself comfy at my and my friend's feet. But the man of the house thought Toth was in our way, so tried to get her to move (a real footstool/doorstopper of a cat). He eventually picked her up and physically moved her away, even though I protested that Toth was just fine where she was.
She came back.

The only thing I do to cats and spread Neosporin on their scratches! I'm allergic so I just feed the wild strays, most of which have consented to let me pet them and some let me take care of the wounds they get from fighting over a fetching female. I wish I could afford to neuter and spay them!!
The last time I "tortured" my dogs was yesterday when Gus got something caught between his jowls and gums. It was a piece of unsalted rice cake and just stuck there. He didn't like it but was very happy I got it out. Also, he has "reverse sneezing" that sounds like he's choking--the most effective treatment is blocking his nostrils when he breathes in and he hates that but if I didn't, he'd keep on huffing and gagging for 10-15 minutes!
We hate to to these things to our animals but it's for their own good!

hi ElicBxn oh my this made me think of my dad and my grandpa and the
black tomcat who needed a certain pill. okay they tried the usual way and the cat would spit it out.So they put a towel around the cat and I held it while these two idiots rolled up a piece of tin and forced it into the poor cats mouth. then my dad,the country doctor, threw the pill down the rolled up tin, they pulled the tin free from Midnight's mouth and Midnight just spat the pill out. So my retarded little sister calmly picked up
the pill, put it in a wad of raw hamburger and held it out to Midnight. He just swallowed it without chewing. I waited for awhile to be sure he had not hidden the pill in his cheek, No he did not spit it out. the two silly grown men looked so silly. Then we had to treat Midnight for the cut on his lip. My mom was so mad at those two she could barely talk. That poor cat never trusted my dad or my granddad again.

I tortured our big (20lb) male ex-tom last night. He has been REFUSING to come in the house because of the two kittens and their mother that we just rescued. It was supposed to POUR last night so I was determined to get him in the house. I grabbed him on the porch and brought him in. I fed him some yummy canned food to bribe him... I don't know if this qualifies as torture, since I didn't have to do anything to him... but he spent the next 1/2 hour growling and hissing and staring at the door. Finally I said "FINE! GO OUT THEN!" right after that it started pouring rain. (There is a dog house out there that he likes and plenty of other places to keep dry).
I torture my dogs weekly when I dremel their nails... hehe... they hate that, but they get good treats afterwords!!

Sleepy complains that we are being mean whenever we have to move him, and he's not ready to move. However, he thought he was being tortured when he got a kidney infection, and we had to give him medicine.

I had the same problem with Ethel yesterday. I got a few baby wipes and went at it. What a commotion. What? was I killing her? Would she really rather lick it off? What a big baby.

Oh my! Poor Taj! Seems he's been having alot of issues lately!
I have put off the task of trimming Luna's nails for fear of
being ripped to shreads, bitten, hissed, growled and whatever
else he can come up with! He doesn't like being woman-handled
and I HAVE to do it! I've actually thought of getting a "kitty
muzzle" so at least I won't get bit, but the scratching fight
may be a bit more difficult. I know all the tricks, wrapping
the "terrified ball of fur" in a towel! Well then I can't clip
his claws! And I have nobody to hold him down! Short of a full
padded bodysuit for "Mama" what can I do?

I ‘tortured’ both my cats last week when I bathed them! I actually tormented the dog too because she got a bath as well. The cats don’t like being washed but they are used to it. I had the three of them in the laundry, the heater was on and I was armed with towels and pet shampoo. I washed them one by one leaving the dog until last; she had to get done in the shower due to her size, the kitties were fine in the laundry trough. They didn’t want to talk to me at first but they are all over it now and we’re all friends again!

It wasn't me that did this. I was a bystander and plead innocent : ) Anyway, the story is that my cousin and her husband got a new kitten. (This happened many years ago.)It was in the back yard and we heard it crying. My cousin's husband went out and brought it in the house.
The kitten had somehow got his lower jaw stuck all the way in his new collar. It was all the way in so his mouth was wide open as far as it would go. He couldn't get his jaw out. We tried Vaseline and that didn't work. Well, it was quite a job for my cousin's husband to get the kitten out of it. He finally did with the kitten screaming like you wouldn't believe!!!
The kitten seemed just fine afterwards, but we were all more shaken up by it than the kitten!
At least they learned their lesson not to put the collar on TOO loose. They wanted it a little loose so he could get out of it in an emergency. But that obviously was too loose!!

I don't have any kitties to "torture", but my MinPin, Milo, regularly protests at being manhandled! You can do nothing to him! You can't clip his nails, you can't wipe his tear stains, you can't even towel dry him after his baths! He gets mad too!

Clipping the nails of either of our cats is a half-day ordeal. For one cat it's necessary to wear something with long, padded sleeves and long pants. For the other, you'd swear she was a ferret by the bending and flexibility she has to get away. And she's a Houdini for her success rate. Sometimes I think it would be easier just to replace the couch every 2 or 3 years.

It has been awhile since I tortured one of my cats. They always act like you are killing them, when you are just trying to help them. They make the other cats or animals think that you are doing something horrible to them and they get worried that they are next. If any humans hear them, you might get reported for cruelty to animals.

LOL...many years ago my ex-hubby and I had five black cats. The most torture I have ever done to any cat was back then...we put masking tape on all four of Papa's paws and watched him walk down the hallway trying to kick it off all four paws!!! We laughed ourselves silly!
Of course, we removed the tape for him before too long. But then, that's more sadistic than cleaning yuck off one of our cats. My daughter has the pleasure of giving our cats baths when they need it. I leave the torture to her these days.
Heeheeheeeee (furby laugh)
