When you receive email from myLot, about discussion of friends, there are two options, one is ‘view the comment on myLot’ and the other is ‘view this entire discussion on myLot’;
I go for the ‘view this entire discussion on myLot’ ; because in the other option I can’t see any picture posted in the discussion.
But in the ‘view this entire discussion on myLot’, there is chance of getting biased in the response one makes, because he/she can see others responses as well.
I try to put my ideas only in my responses, but at times some others may get mixed, I do admit that.
So what about you? Please share your views?
Professor

dear professor,
i also go to that part always and maybe that is what is making me stalled for a while because i love reading and laughing at each one's idea. some have the same idea that i have in mind, so i try to make my response in a way that when you read it is not very similar as those who have answered already.
ave a nice day.

I view the comment. I feel that if I view the entire discussion I will not get right the response to that particular member's comment. He or she may have different comments to the others, because they may have given different responses or zeroed in on a particular part of the discussion.
For instance, if the discussion is about discussion, one responder may remark on illegal adoptions, one responder may remark on having to adopt overseas children, one may remark on a bad experience when her friend had her baby taken away and it was adopted by murderers who eventually killed the baby. But you are to first reply to the one who commented on.
A respondent can comment on one of the others, particularly if they got a fact wrong. And you are right about being biased. You also may find that you are in the majority and everyone is against you, and may feel you have to agree with them. Of course, I have not done that and that is why I get flamed so often.

You're welcome. It is best to just answer each responder what they want to know because well you might get in trouble and perhaps lie and agree or disagree with the general other responders because of fear and that is wrong.

I forgot to thank you for the best response. I had a hard time trying to explain myself, as I sort of put my foot in my mouth as the saying goes.

For me, I will typically opt for the view comment on mylot option. The reason for this is that I've already read the beginning of the discussion because I've already made an initial comment to the discussio that is at hand. However, when I am making my initial comment on a discussion, I will read through the majority of the discussion before I will make my comment on the discussion. For me, I think that is the best technique to use, though it probably differs for other people.

Hallo Professor,
I am a newbie to mylot, I prefer to learn how the other member reply the discussion, therefore I usually view the entire discussion. Sometimes (mostly), just reading the discussion without log in. Beside I'm also a "silent" man, prefer to listening than speaking.. or I am not a good writer or sometimes dont know how to say my opinion..
but if I want to post my own opinion, and to avoid get mixed with other member ideas, better to reply the discussion without seeing the other member posts.

Actually you are supposed to read the entire discussion before posting so you do not repeat what others have said. Sometimes the view choice does not load quickly and then I just go to respond. I have, in fact, embarrassed myself by not reading the whole thing and not knowing what I am talking about.

Dear Pro.
I seldom go for a discussion from my email box since there are too many individual letters to check out. I usually directly come to here to choose topics I'm interested in and drop my comments. However, I used to going for an entire discussion on mylot since I like to view others' different opinions and thoughts. Maybe I can learn something from their comments or useful information. Hehehe...
Have a nice day and happy mylotting!

For me, I also did the part of which I can read and see the entire discussions not for my self only. I am very much eager to learn from others thoughts and ideas. I want to know if my ideas are similar or different from them and if ever it sounds interesting in my part I do reply to it and gave my opinion.

I actually don't do either! I usually just delete them without looking. I come here so often every day that I see when the new discussions come in. I'm usually on here for hours at a time. And plus, I usually check my email on my iPod, so it's hard to respond from there anyway.

i post my comments directly on the discussions....usually i work on mylot during night before retiring to bed...the next morning when i see lots of emails in my inbox...i start reading the comments one by one...i respect every comment as its just their understanding. But its a nice experience to know what people feel.

I went that too but when it comes to responses I do care. Their are so many people in mylot who got better responses and very smart.I don't think its biased because I believe there is no right or wrong answer here. As long as you share your points of view everything is accepted.

I view the entire discussion as well because I like to see what other people think of the discussion but in the end, it is my thoughts that I respond with regardless whether or not they agree with others are writing.

Never read before responding. You will never be able to give fair views. The chances of being influenced by what you read from others responses are high. I usually will respond first before reading from the rest, only if it interest me otherwise I will just go on to the next post.

hi professor I always go straight to view entire discussion in case a link or a picture has been posted. I very seldom read others responses first as I like to respond from my own thinking and not be swayed by what others may say; I have always been that way in responding. Otherwise it is to easy to just repeat what a dozen others seem to do.
