Chrome or Firefox?

I have just reformatted my computer and about to download a new browser. I have been using Chrome for a year already when someone suggested Firefox. I tried Firefox and seemed okay.
After some time, I got mixed reactions. Some say Chrome is a hog while other say Firefox slows down computers.
I want to know which of these two is less likely to slow my pc... not much about those extensions and add-ons. I just need to know which won't harm my pc too much.

It depends on the website you visit but in average terms, I think Chrome is a little bit faster than Firefox. Of course, Firefox have released several new revisions since I last checked so I am not sure if that is the case now.
I use Firefox because I like the extensions available for it. Fastestfox is great!

Each computer is like a human being. Just like humans, computers have componants that make them very simular, but no two computers are garenteed to react to the same program the same way. Firefox in general is just as good as Chrome, but mainly it is a matter of preferance. I personally can't use Chrome because its not screen reader friendly, but if you really want to know what I think.
Stick with what you know and have been using. You know your computer best. Firefox may not harm your computer, though it may be prone to crashes and freezes. However, the same could easily be said for Chrome. No browser is perfect, but if there is a browser out there you have been the most comfortable with stick with it.

I'm not a browser expert nor a computer geek but I've tried both browsers. And having a fast connection and a fast computer, I didn't have problems with Firefox. I don't know what's the problem with Chrome, I mean, I doesn't have any toolbars and yet it slows down and keeps on hanging everytime I use it. No I'm not bad mouthing Chrome. It's just what really happens everytime I use it. I suggest you try other browsers like Opera and Iceweasel. =)

I try both of these two browsers. And I still think Firefox is the best. It won't slow down my computer even if I open many tags. And it also provides me many cool plug-in. It can check my spelling automatically. Besides, even if your browser shuts down suddenly, your words input before will be available next time when you open the browser again. This is so useful.

I've tried firefox but I haven't tried chrome yet.
I currently use XP with IE8, but I also had firefox installed and I thought fox was pretty good, but recently I decided to just use IE8 and remove fox to make room in my computer I liked fox it was good though I'm sceptical to try chrome because I'm afraid it will crash my computer system.

Well basically I may give a bit biased opinion here because I haven't tried using chrome before. A few of my mates says chrome is nice but since I haven't had any direct experience with it I can't have their words for it as well.
But this i can tell you, we've been using firefox for the longest time and we haven't encountered problem with it. Our computer is still functioning well giving us satisfaction every time we're using it for our online work and activities.

I use both chrome and firefox because some site run on Chrome well and some on firefox because of cross-browser compatibility issue..
I use Greasemonkey. the most powerful tool on Firefox and those many extensions are not available on Chrome(which I need).
