what color eyes is it possible for our child to have?

I have dark brown eyes and my partner has bright blue eyes. I know that there are two chromosomes on each gene for each parent which results in a few possibilities of our child's eye color but does anyone out there know what the possibilities of the child's eye color actually are?

I can't tell you the exact possibilities but I can tell you what I remember from year 10 science class & that the baby will have the color eyes of the most dominant color however this isn't always the case...my mom had hazel eyes with green flecks & my dad has dark brown eyes & I have blue eyes which is a throw back to my grandparents on both sides.

Brown is the most dominant colour, although you're right when you say that this isn't always the case. Both my parents have dark brown eyes and my brother has bright blue eyes. I've just been checking out an eye colour chart and according to that there's a 50% chance of the child having brown eyes and a 50% chance of the child having blue eyes so I'm assuming that if the chances are 50% each way then they must be the only two possibilities.

Thanks rainbowbunnyz, now that is the exact sort of information I was looking for! Funny how my first daughter has hazel eyes though (not green), according to the DNA chart I was looking at there was a 0% chance of that happening but I know for sure that she is my real daughter.

There's really no exact way to tell what a child's eyecolor will be. That is, if his/her parents have different eye color. The chances are always 50/50. You just have to wait and experience the suspense to know which parent did the child get the color of his eyes.

Ah well, there's actually a very serious point behind me starting this discussion in the first place. I believe there's a possibility that my second daughter is not mine biologically. I guess I'll just have to wait until I've saved the money for a paternity test.

If your child is boy then it could be similar with your eyes and if girls then it could be similar. In genetically it should be what i mention. But also could be light blue. I just predict not 100% sure. So you must wait till the child born. Have a good time!
