what are we humans - locusts or bumble bees?

I have watched a documentary the other day and someone posed a very interesting question.
He said also that we will see in the near future if we, humans, are like the locusts that destroy everything in their way and leave behind them nothing.
Or maybe we are like the bumble bees - trying to connect to nature and be part of it, making our best for the survival of this Earth?
What is your opinion?

I think there are some who are like bumble bees, connecting and even yearning for nature and seeing ourselves as a part of it. Unfortunately, I think more humans, at least in our culture, are like locusts, destroying everything they see for their own gain. They live in artificial worlds and love it there and they don't care if they destroy what is natural to continue creating their own comfort. I am more and more convinced that the love of money is truly the root of all evil.

Humans must use discipline and intelligence to be like the bumble bee. It seems to me that the majority of the people, or general public, are more like locusts these days as it is the easiest and most one dimensional way to live; they do not have to put forth any effort b/c they know that in the end the government will somehow take care of them. That is the most selfish and unevolved approach to living that one can have. In order to be a "bumble bee", you have to take personal responsibility for yourself, and look outside of yourself to contribute to your family, neighborhood, community, and country.
