I was informed today that on 8-3-2010 that I am going to be admitted in the hospital for an Hernia Surgery and a Lower GI Endoscopy. Therefore, that week I will be gone.
You know, as if I don't have a full plate already; with the oxygen, quiting smoking, my husband police and firer scanner, and now surgery.
I think I need a vacation. The reason I have to be put into the Hospital is because of my breathing and COPD.
Maybe, everything is just getting to me. Thanks for listening.
Have you ever had Hernia Surgery?

I know people who have had the surgery and the recovery was not easy. I will add you to my prayers and pray that you recover quickly. That God give you the strength to overcome all these turbulence's in your life.
Don't worry about not being around, take the time to get stronger than come back with wonderful stories as we will be here for you.

sorry girl. no thank god thats one of the few i havent. i hope its not to bad on you. its to bad you have to go to hospital and be in pain in order to get a vacation. not fair. it really makes you feel sorry for yourself knowing other people are having fun vacations. but sadly you and I will seldom have that any more. I also have COPD and just the part of not being able to do so many things that takes movement etc. any more i used to so enjoy like dance and such, makes me get depressed. i think that illness just has that as one of its side effects.

Hi bunnybon7
I know and it's hard not to be able to enjoy shopping or just a simple little walk. Like you stated, to be able too dance. I used to dance all the time. Now, I can't even make my bed.
You know, it's wonderful to bale to chat with some on that understands, because sometime I feel so alone and very depress. You may PM anytime and we can chat and help one another if you want.
Thanks for caring and be a very good friend! I will be back. I don't have long now before D day 8-3-2010. I just pray that i make it thought it.

Good morning Snow, i know u are dreading it. Sometimes i think the dread is worse than the actually doing. The main thing w/that surgery is taking care of yourself afterwards. My former mother-in-law had to have that surgery more than once because she never took care of herself afterwards.

I had my tonsils out when I was 3 and that was the last time I had surgery and luckily I don't even remember.
I'm a big chicken when it comes to doctors and hospitals so I don't blame you for not looking forward to it.
On the other hand I'm glad they fix you up so you will be around for a long timeand look at the bright side "NO POLICE SCANNERS"

Hey there, bit of bad luck you got going on, and that sucks, but I bet things will turn around soon. As for the Hernia Surgery, my Dad and a close friend both had one, and it's a relatively simple surgery, although it can get quite painful afterwards.
Best of luck.

hi snow look at the stay in the hospital as a rest stop and
a place to not have to worry about anything but just relaxing
'and getting well. I have never had surgery for a hernia but have for a fractured shoulder and that was no fun. I have an artificial shoulder joint that has rendered my left arm almost useless. The vacation will be to be in the hospital without anything to do and all of those nurses just waiting on you.The prep for the endoscopy is the worst as the endoscopy is painless but those things they give you to clean you out are the worst part of it. I had a colonoscopy two years ago and the test itself was nothing but the laxative to clean you out was the worst part of it. lol lol.

So sorry to hear you have to go have surgery in August snowqueen. Get things taken care of for yourself medically then you will feel better and be able to come back home. I have never had hernia surgery before but I think it is probably a pretty commonly done procedure. I'm sure you will be in great hands.

woo snow, definitely sounds to me too like you could do with a nice vacation!
Hopefully you will get some rest while you are in for the op as people have said, let the nurses take care of you and pamper you a little, try to think of it like a kind of clinical vacation where you at least get to sleep well for a change (I hope).
Wishing you all the best, and hoping they do take care of you real well,
Debs :)

hi there, you got a very serious condition there. I Havent had a hernis surgery but i did had a surgery when i gave birth to my first child through a cesarean section. at first i was afraid because of the fact that my abdomen will be opened, but i dont have any choice i need to save my baby from distress. But in your case you need to really face your fear because your health status is at stake. Well all you have to do is pray that the surgery will be successful and no complications will occur. Good Luck on your surgery.
