Why is that? Every coffee maker I have ever seen marks the 2 cup mark like you're really going to get two cups out of it! It barely is one cup in reality. I know that they say it's a 6 ounce cup. Where did they get that? There is no such thing as a cup that is 6 ounces. In US standard measurement we are taught that one cup equals 8 ounces period! Are they trying to make it look like more than what it is?

My Senseo make 2 'cups' but it is not my type of cup size, I think thet they base it on the espresso sized cup.

They base it on something other than the size of a real coffee cup that's for sure!!

A "mug" and a "cup" are different :)

I know!! we bought a coffee maker a while back that was supposed to be 4 cups. dont you know, you are lucky if it gets 2 in it. Im thinking are these stupid coffee maker producers using the tiny tea cups used in Japan for measuring or what?? it makes no sense whatever. you'd think that cutting down on the amount you get when buying other products would be enough for manufactures and producers, without actually cutting down our coffee makers and everything else

It is funny that you brought this up. I was thinking the same thing the other day. I really don't know what they are doing.

I did wonder about that during my first time to use the coffee maker but now. For me, I don't care about that because I use my mug to measure how much coffee I want to put in the coffee maker.
