Which language is mostly used to design a OS for cell phones..... / myLot

I was wondering that in which language the code of operating system of the cell phones are designed.I only know about some sony ericsson phones that are designed in java.Me eagerly waiting for comments......

One time I found this job opening for android phone programmers. One of the classifications are 1year experience in php. But i'm not sure if they use it for the OS or applications.

I think it's Java. With the wonderful basis J2EE, Java is suiable to develope a cell phone operating system.

Java is certainly the most used language in mobile technology. Recently i learned some of the java programming and came to know that android is also designed is pure java. Thanks for the comment my friend.......
