Do you buy books in the stores or get them online?

I like to read real books but often I have to get books online. I always can easily find some book online rather than searching for it in the stores. It's difficult though to read from the screen, tiresome. I print a book if I really want to read it once again.

I buy books online and in bookstores, yard sales, anywhere books are sold. But mostly, I get so many free for a book review site I'm a reviewer for, that I rarely buy them. About the only time I buy books is from yard sales to resell to the used bookstore. As far as print books ... always! I've yet to read or listen to a book that I couldn't hold in my hand. I'm in to the full effect of a book, I want to turn the pages, smell the printed page and cover, and give it a special place on a bookshelf for safekeeping.

It is, indeed. And the site I review for is great because it is mostly self-published or new authors, as opposed to best selling authors, and there is a great variety in genres, which I like.

I heard about getting free books for reviews. That's very useful.

I prefer shopping in bookstores. It's very rare that I can't find what I'm looking for in the bookstore, and even then if I ask someone who works at the bookstore they'll go out of their way to order a copy or find a copy for me. But I also like a lot of small-print books that I can't find in book stores. If that's the case I buy the book online. But I like bookstore and I like browsing through books and being able to pick them up and take a look.

I agree, it's easy to buy a book in a store. But if you want to read a book in other language, it can be complicated sometimes. Not so easy to find what you want. So, you simply have to look for a book online.

I don't like reading from a computer screen. For me, a book has to be a book. I like curling up with a good book when I can. But with my two children, there's not much time that I can have to curl up. Buying them, well, I buy from the book store as well as online. It depends on when and where I see a book that I want to read. I like going to the bookstore and browsing different books. But it's hard to find time these days. If I want to read a book and don't have time to dash to the store, I search online and buy it. Buying from a store will always be my first choice.

I also like to buy books from a store than to read online. It's also difficult for me to read from the screen. Do you buy books in English or in other languages? English probably is not your native language, right?

I pretty always will buy my books in the stores. I enjoy being able to hold the books in my hands and just read from paper. I have a much easier type reading actual books. I don't really like reading books online. It's just not for me. My eyes get tired more easily if I read from off my computer.

I am mostly a nonfiction reader. I read at least four or five books at a time. Sometimes I take advantage of amazon.com especially if I want books that total over $25. In the U.S. they ship free for anything over $25 if it is a new book purchase. If I am buying a used book, sometimes I can pick it up for around $1 U.S. and then minimal shipping, which is still a good deal. I like to go to used book sales or shop for books that are being sold at less cost at our local stores. My absolute first choice is my local library. Our library is now on line and I can search throughout our state for the reading material I am looking for. It is very seldom that what I want to read is not available. Sometimes if it is a new book, I have to wait on a waiting list but eventually I do get the book. The absolute best deal in town is my local library. Once I have read a book from the library and decide that it is a keeper, then I look to purchase it. I do not like to download books and read them on the computer because it bothers my eyes. The library, though, also offers this option.

That's very good idea - first to get a book from the local library and then if you need it - find it in the store. Used books sales are also great. Can find some treasures there. I also like Amazon for books. You can buy great books for good price, they always offer you a good deal.

Hi annamol I only buy printed books. I don't like to read them online. I do purchase books on line, mostly from Amazon. They sell used books at very low prices. I also take advantage of the library in my community, who, every July, has a used book sale. I wait until the last day when I can get a large bag of books for $2.00 US. I get 2 or 3 bags, and they last me until the next sale. I can't afford to buy them new, so this works for me.

Yes, to buy new books may cost you a lot, so it's always good to buy used books.
