I am a university student studying the course Information technology. I am confused with my choice. I was a brilliant student at college and I never failed any subject in any class. But i was very confused which subject to choose for university as I dont like full time learning. I like Mathematics subject but it has no scope except to become a teacher. And i did Science at Alevel and today i regret for not taking any science course. So in your opinion what should I do? drop the IT course? Help me because i know i am a brilliant student and i dont want to deteriorate my future.

I think you should reconsider what you really like and find an definately goal before you act. Otherwise I'm afraid you may regret again in the future.

Maybe you should choose a course or subject that you are interested in and also the one that you can stay with for a long time. Doing something that you don't want to do is like staying in the rain it feels so good but it isn't right. Choose the one that you really want...

just major in what you love, enjoy and are good at. i am sure there is a job with it. math and science are very practical subjects for careers like engineering, medicine, computer science, architecture(if u r also good at art), and i am sure there are much more. i cant think of any right now. take one of those occupational tests which lists all of the jobs for math and science majors. do your research.

For me if you take out you might lose the IT but when you proceed and take the consequences about it I know you get it because you are brilliant.

As you have said, you don't want to deteriorate your future. Take a course wich you think you will love and like it in the future. And in here we are talking of your future. It's not yet late to shift course

oke ..well i think you've a problem that every student almost feel the same thing... In my oppinion you should continue your study in Information technology till you graduate and finish your school. and i believe you coud to do it, because you said that you are a brilliant student. why i suggest you this.. because in this globalotaation era, in order to make our self a competitive one for work, we should have a sertificate that show our cappacity. beside that while you study to finish your school i suggest you to find another skill, it will be an advantage point, so when you finish with tour school you can be a very competitive person who has finish the school with the brilliant mind and other skill of work.

AS you have said it..you're a brilliant student. In that case you may consider your IT course. But you also admitted that you don't want full time learning, so perhaps you have to think it twice. If you gonna drop you present course, do you think you may want your next choice? For me, in choosing a course and if you're really serious in preparing for you future, you have to consider your interest. Interest will also boost your initiative in pursuing your career. Maybe you still have so much time to study but you will waste it somehow as well as time and your effort. So consider your interest. Hope this will help you.

i think you should meet an educational councellor and then select the right course.

Think of it this way, being a "Brilliant Science Teacher" is a noble job wherein you teach people on science obviously or probably math as well. Continuing your course in IT on the other hand is not so bad as well since the scope of life opportunities within that course is very broad, complicated but broad. You can be a teacher, a businessman, a technician, a writer or whatever things you could do in the computer nowadays... Dropping your IT course is not a good idea as per my opinion. Just continue what you've been doing since you've already started going through that path, keep up the A level. You love math? IT has lots of math!!! Believe me, been there myself too... As brilliant as you may claim to be, I'm sure you can pull it off... Enjoy life... Cheers!!!

I think you must finish your course, change your profession to another, which is not a good chioce, you said you are a brilliant student,so you can do all them very well, why not? you can try it!
