I have been smoking for 7years now and I really want to quit. Mostly because of financial reasons (Its so expensive!) and of course it's not good for my health either.
I have been trying to stop a few times before and one time I didn't smoke for 1-2months but I was stupid and started again.
Now I'm wondering if theres any mylotters here that have quit smoking and have some
useful tips and advices that might help me?

Remember how you got addicted to smoking? Because you started it one day and kept on doing it everyday until it became a habit. Want to undo it? Just stop smoking and make it a daily habit not to smoke.
Quitting is simple but definitely not easy. Be determined. Focus on the reasons why you want to quit and the rest will be easy for you.
"When the WHY is clear, the HOW will be easy."

Oh no you smoke, I really hope that you can quit this addiction. I know you can fight it I know it may be hard, but you can do it.
I used to smoke, but you know what I did everytime I would reach for a smoke I would think Do I really want to do this and I would think about how much shorter it would make my life.
I also thought of how I would hurt them if I were to die due to smoking. In the end that's what stopped me from smoking.

To Quit smoking, the following ideas may help you:
1) Strong Determination to Quit and not false promises to yourself.
2) Stop Gradually, step by step, less it day by day..
3) Go for alternative,
4) Avoid Friends which encourages you smoking, and Be with those friends which feels you that being with them helps Quit Smoking..
5) keep busy yourself with other works like Hobbies,Gym,Sports,prayers..
6) If you have any tension Go out of it and just have a walk in garden or do activites which forgets your tension..
7) Remember! it is easy to do bad things but to leave it is the most toughest part..
SO BE PATIENT..THINK POSITIVE..

You should not rush to quit smoking. That's the worst thing you should do. You might kill yourself by doing that. That's a big NO! You should quit smoking gradually. For example if you use more than 10 sticks per day, then the next week or maybe 2 weeks after, you should only use 9 sticks. That's the proper way. And the next 2 weeks again. You should always reduce you're usage until it ends with 0 stick. It's your choice if you want weeks or months. Better make a goal list. And especially, have self-discipline. Because if you don't start quitting now, you might get complications to your body like hypertension, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), and CANCER. Because if you do have secondary complications like hypertension, you might also get heart disease and multiple organ failure. You don't want that right?

Yes, I know that you should always gradually quit smoking.
My grandfather had Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and a few weeks ago he quit smoking instantly without doing it gradually and that actually killed him.
The doctors are saying that when you are smoking you have some sort of infection and if you quit smoking instantly then that infection will burst out and your body might not be able to take care of it like it should.
If you on the other hand gradually quit smoking the infection will also come gradually, leaving your body time to take care of it.
Thanks for your advice, I appreciate it! :)

i dont smoke but i knew someone who once did but quit.. i guess the most effective way of quitting is not to stop smoking immdediately.. how many sticks can you smoke in day? let's say if it's 10, try smoking 8 then you have to gradually lessen your consumption per day until you reached to 1 or nothing at all. try keeping mints or candies and just pop one of it everytime you feel like smoking. i'm not sure if this would help you but it helped my friend. there's no harm in trying though.
most importantly, if you have the goal to quit then you must also think about that goal everytime you feel like smoking.

its really hard to quit smoking especially when your surrounded by smokers..or when you are depress... nervous.. stress.. some say that 2nd smokers are more risky to their health..so what would you choose? so i suggest.. be strong in your decision to stop smoking.. coz nobody can help you but youself.. aand please dont try some alternative medicines that can ease of craving smokes..there will always a side effect.. try to divert your habit into some activity that can help you give a good shape..you know what i mean...goodluck

I don't smoke at all. I would like to share you my dad's experience to quit smoking. My dad had smoke for quite a long time. Finally he decided to get rid of it. When he felt like smoking, then he would do some housework so that he wouldn't focus on the smoking. He kept on doing it for over a week, then he didn't have a strong feeling to smoke. And after some time, he didn't want to smoke any more. This may be a good idea. As doing the housework is good, and quitting smoking is also good. It is double benefits:)
I love China

I can understand how hard you might be finding it out to quit smoking. But i know one thing, smoking is such a habit which you can only quit if you take a very hard determination for it, until and unless you yourself decide to leave it, nothing can really help you, trust me, once you make it a point you have to leave it at any cost. You will forget even you use to smoke before!
