Have renamed my lunch myLot Hash!!

I've burnt peas before but it was'nt because of myLot I burnt them cause I was reading a book and completly forgot about the peas. It was'nt til I smelled coffee that I remembered the peas and there was no coffee cooking. Burnt peas are reeaaally hard to clean... :)

Hehehehe, no, but it certainly interfered with my housecleaning many times. It's amazing how wrapped up we can get here in myLot. When I first joined, I couldn't get enough. Hours would pass before I realized just how much time I had been spending here. That still happens occasionally but, with a lot of therapy, I've been able to get more disciplined with my time. Just kidding about the therapy. Actually, it was when I started naming the dust bunnies that I realized I was spending too much time here. It took a lot of effort on my part but I've finally come to a good balance of time. Still, it can get out of control sometimes. Actually, I've planned a lot of baking today so we'll see if my money is where my mouth is. If I burn anything because of being here, I'll let you know and also rename whatever dish or dishes get burned to 'myLot whatever'. Let's hope myLot doesn't claim the rights to any meal ruined because of it!

I certainly know about mylot burning, as I call it. My computer is in the second flor of my house and the kitchen in the first. Many times I put something to boil (usually potatoes) and promise I´ll go check them in 15 to 20 minutes as I know that potatoes at the most take 1/2 an hour to cook. And then I come here again and start typing. Then I smell that burnt potatoes odour I know so well. I have discovered that they taste wonderfully so that´s not a problem. But cleaning the pot is. Carrots are worse as they are sweet. The sugar in them makes cleaning more difficult Should we get an alarm clock to have by the computer? I just thought up the idea.

Sad to hear about your lunch. But, your new meal name sound very nice. Yes this was happened with me too. I was spoiled my omlet and pasta, because I was so busy.. I was forgot for my lunch when I was remember for eating my pasta was overdone and omlet was so much burnet. I was named my meals for black food. Now I am much carefuly when I am cooking while siting on myLot. Take care, Have a nice day!

I have only recently joined & just finding my way around the site so not in the addiction stage yet, corned beef hash to me is corned beef mashed up with potatoes then cooked in the oven until the top is like a shepherds pie.

Hi, oldchem1. Oh my!! I have never burned up anything while I have been on myLot. But I am sure that it can happen. Let me stop!! I did burn up my cinnamon rolls. I went to walk in my bedroom and I did not realize that the oven was going to cook it that fast, and my cinnamon rolls burnt up..

mine usually ends up with burnt biscuits

I hope your lunch still tasted fine! I haven't actually burned anything while I was on myLot, but I do get distracted and lazy. Like, I put something in the microwave and it went off, but I kept typing on myLot and was too lazy to get up and grab it. If I'm on myLot, I tend to forget about other things I have to do and how fast the time goes by. It's definitely not good when I end up having to rush to work or something!
