Hello everyone!:) I want to know if you guys have any experience of having bad housekeepers? When I say bad housekeepers, I really mean the word "bad"...:) Like, they don't really do their work, they make you wait, they think they're the boss and own your house, they abuse your kindness, they demand a lot of things from you, etc. Can you please share them? This will be a fun discussion..:) And how did you treat them? What did you to do them? Share your experiences friends...

I had an experience like this once but not she wasn't that bad. Though I'd still say she was bad because she didn't do her job at all. I thought she cleaned the bathroom but when I took a look at it, it was as if she was just splashing water around for no reason whatsoever. So I just payed her and got rid of her ASAP.

I know having a source of income or a job is really important to everyone. However, we must also receive good results if we spend money unto such things. :D

We had a 'bad' housekeeper and a bad 'nanny' once. The housekeeper does her job fine. She does the chores effectively and efficiently. The 'bad' thing about her though is she frequently goes outside of the house, then comes back with her boyfriend. And they do stuff lovers do. You get the point. lol. It was just me and my sister who were in our house that's why she manages to bring her boyfriend without our mom's knowledge. When she found out though, she immediately fired her because she thought that our housekeeper is desecrating our house. lol. About our nanny, well she often hits us and scolds us. And of course, this infuriated my mom and the nanny got booted out our house. =)

Oh my, your house isn't a lovers' lounge...Can't they afford to go somewhere else appropriate...:D Your mom did the right thing. The same thing also happened to my family, and my parents really got angry that they fired our housekeeper immediately after finding out. Hmm, I don't have any experiences yet with nannies who scold and hit me. But there was a time that our housekeeper hurt my brother. I glared at her and she couldn't look at me straight in the eyes. My parents don't lay a hands on us, I mean they don't hurt us physically when they are angry so the housekeeper didn't have the right to hurt my brother.:D

Hi, mac_mac1221. I have never had an housekeeper before in my home. But I have had an experience with the housekeeper at the motel before. He had the attitude like he did not want to come in and clean my room. So, I told him that I don't make the schedule. I mean, this man seemed so inconsiderate. He did not want to clean my room for nothing... So, I just decided to just clean up my own room without asking them. His behavior was very rude! I spoke to the manager about this and she said that this is his job to clean up the rooms. That is what he is getting paid for. I know that after this, the manager probably kept a strict eye out on him because of what I told her. Sometimes I would leave and come back to my room and I did not have any clean and fresh towels.... I don't know what the deal was.. But I told the manager about this too. It is a shame that people have these jobs and they don't want to work. They should give their job to someone that is willing and eager to work..

Hi Mac_mac, Just very recently I fired and househelp who's been with me for over two years. I didn't have any problem with her at first, she knows her job and does it well. But later on I noticed she wasn't as efficient anymore. Worse, I found out she sneaks out at night and comes in very late. Then my kids told me that there were times when they were from school and no one was at home. I got really angry, and so I fired her.

Yeah I remember when I was a kid, in our village house my father hired this housekeeper, servant. He would get paid like a good amount but then he wouldn't do his work. We had cows and we would ask him to milk them but he would just go there and sit and listen to his old radio. My father would pull his arm and would make him do the work. Actually he wasn't a hardworking guy. So my father had to make him quit the job.

Hi Mac-mac, Growing up, I've had my share of nannies since my mom was working. What my parents did though is choose someone who is at least a distant relative. Well, like most of you, I've had my share of nannies that would spank us. They did the housework just fine though. The worst nanny that we had, was my nephew's nanny. She took things that weren't hers and there was this incident that she did not turn over any money that I asked her to give to our neighbor. It was stupid of me to trust her but eventually, we all found out and I really hated her. She was fired and sent back to the province. She was one big headache for all of us. grr...

I've had a few bad ones, none stealing from me but quite a few that just never could get much done. It's too bad but honestly right now there are so many people grateful to get work that there is no reason to put up with it, if one person is lazy there is going to be another one around the corner happy to get some work and do a great job. Since I just moved I'm looking to get a new housekeeper, I figured I'll just ask around the neighborhood until I find someone that works out.

It was really an embarrassing situation when we found out. It actually answered my question since I noticed my neighbor was looking at me in a funny way. All the while, she was thinking that I did not pay her. Gosh! Well, I do hope all the best for you. Hired help is so hard to find these days especially those that you can trust. Good luck!

hi mac_mac1221, Oh yes. When I was still young we used to have this bad housekeeper that was also our neighbor. She was the one who do our laundry and that includes ironing/steaming of clothes. Then one day my mom caught her (housekeeper) wearing her blouse. LOL! My mom asked her where did she bought it and she replied saying it was a gift from a friend. Then, my mom checked some of her clothes and she realized that most of her new and expensive under garments were missing. I was still in grade school back then and all I can remember was my mom fired her immediately after serving almost a month with us.

We always encounter this kind of house keepers. They are acting all mighty and high and so demanding. We treat them like they are part of the family but they become so abusive. What we do? we fired them.

yes I do. my last maid was fired because of the gossip she made about my family so its very stressing on us keep telling stories about my family which she should not be doing. I treat her just like a family but the fact is she forgetting who she was and whats her job in the house. I treat her as one member of the family but she keeps on going out that's the reason why she get fire.
