Barbeque chicken

Does anyone have a good recipe for barbeque chicken that doesn't require baking for a long time in the oven. It is so hot here that I'm trying to avoid using the oven if possible. Thanks!

Sorry I am not going to be of much help. My grandmother, when she cooked, would cut her chicken up and put it in a pan and make it on the stove top that way, Then I think she'd wait until the chicken was done, and add the barbecue sauce, the whole process didn't seem to take that long at all. I am sure cutting the chicken cut the cooking time in half as it was easier for the chicken to get done.

Thanks for your reply. My mother used to bake chicken covered with barbecue sauce in the oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hours and it was very tender and good. But it is too hot to run the oven for an hour or two so I will probably try the stove-top method.

Cutting the chicken up was just something my grandmother did, not even sure if my dad ever did that when he made bbq chicken as it's been years, but I do when I first had supper with hubs parents I was surprised they didn't cut the chicken up, I guees it's just the way your used to it. To me it makes the chicken more tender, not so rough!
