Would you rather have an i-phone or a Laptop?

Given that the price is the same. What would you rather have? For me I'd rather have a laptop and a cheap mobile phone than an i-phone. I don't need all those features in an iphone, yeah it would be cool to have it but for practical reasons I'd rather have a laptop. AN iphone is still just a phone anyway. It may be a "smart" phone but not smarter than laptop. XD

I agree with you. I would much rather have a basic mobile phone, and a good laptop to use to access the Internet. However, I WOULD like to have one of those I-Touch things from Apple. It has all the apps that an I-phone offers, but it is not a telephone, and it works off the Wi-Fi connections offered at restaurants and coffee shops just the way your laptop does if it has a wireless internet card built in. They are pretty cool. They offer a lot of the same things that a laptop allows you to do (and more), but it is small enough to fit into a cell phone case, or even your jacket pocket...

I think the higher-end model is about $300-$350, but it is well worth the money...a friend of mine has one and he uses it all the time. It is nice for him, because he doesn't have a laptop, and he can take the I-touch around with him and use it where ever free wi-fi is available...

I live in Manitoba, the province of the bargain hunters and we have a good date plan for the Iphone that costs under eighty dollars and includes the regular talk and text, free weekends, free evenings. My husband is using a special laptop that is wireless (He has Lou Gehrig's disease) so I have free wireless in our home - really do not need the data plan except for our provider and then they pay for it.
So I have an iphone that I use as an ipod, photo storer, weather checker, note taker, and ereader as well as a look up cookbook. Not into games.
I do not like silly applications, so I know what you mean. After I saw that the phone would be good for a visual person like myself, I also checked to see if there were practical applications that I could use.
I would get both, but one advantage of the iphone if you have free wireless, you can delete all your spam without having to turn on your computer.
Believe me getting rid of those Nigerian scams is well worth it.

Well it is easy to turn on the iphone, just move the rectangular a bit to the right and then press the application for the mail.
Anyway I did not think I had to go into great detail - great detail coming up.
First make sure you have a wireless connection in your house or apartment, either you have a laptop or someone else has. Go to the settings on your iphone - if you have one and set for wireless, ask the person if it is not you, for their name and password. Then press ok. You are now on wireless and can surf free of charge. Then you can enter your mail accounts. They have directions to do it.
Then you can check for spam and delete them all.
Of course, if you go out of your house or apartment, and there is no free wifi on your way, you will have to pay for data.
End of long explanation.

I didn't know that. But anyway, you can't delete all spams in your iphone without turning on your iphone.

I agree with you definitely. I'd much rather have a laptop than an iphone! I mean, I don't need a smartphone. I just need a phone to call people and occasionally text and that's it. I don't need the internet or anything like that. It's cool to have, but I'd prefer a laptop given the choice. You can do a lot more with a laptop and I think it's a much better deal for the kind of money you're going to spend. You can get free wifi on a laptop depending on where you are, but you have to pay for a data plan and stuff for the iphone.

Actually Iphone has wi-fi too. So you can have free access to internet too if you are in wi-fi area.

Easy- iPhone. Before 2008, I used to be restricted to sitting down to be able to connect to the internet, or play games, or watch a video. Now, I'm hardly ever on it. And to those who say "well an iPhone wouldn't be very good to watch a movie", why would you watch a whole movie on laptop? Wouldn't a TV be better for that?
I've discovered that if you have the right app, you can do absolutely anything. Before the 3GS, I used to challenge people to tell me something a laptop could do which an iPhone couldn't, and the only thing they could come up with was video editing, and now it can even do that more easily and faster than most laptops!
If you say a laptop is better for playing games, I say you can't pick your laptop up, wave it around, interact with its screen and get immersed as brilliantly as you can on the iPhone.
Plus, it's a phone!

Point noted. But there are many kinds of laptops now. Many are so small and very light so you can carry it around like a book. There are even some with touch screen too and keyboard at the same time (ex: lenovo). But ofcourse it's not a phone. But you can communicate using it in many ways.

I've used these laptops before and I can tell you now that they're terrible. Most of them lack basic features like CD rom drives and they usually only have enough RAM to run windows XP. And even though they're small, they're not small enough, which is why I prefer the iPhone over the iPad even though it has some great features.

Kind of a weird question, it's like asking where would you want to live in a car or a house? So... yeah, laptop I guess, you can't make money through iPhone, even though it's overrated.

I-phone is good. These days it comes free as part of cell phone contracts. So I don't mind having it. My husband has it and it seems one of he best gadget we have seen. Along with this contract there are free features as free limited international calls and other features at 45$ per month. We have laptop but we do not carry it around for short visits.

I would choose to have a laptop. You can use it with a lot of things compared to an i-phone. I-phone is just to show off that you have the most latest gadget but it can never replace a pc.

I remain with a laptop, know them, as using them, because it is like a traditional computer, on the other hand an iphone, I do not have well in clearly what is, I have never seen one, it me sounds to that it is a very sophisticated telephone with Internet.

Hello,
A laptop is a portable personnal computer and there are no other appliance which can replace them for most purposes. The iPhone is a 'smart' phone which is even more portable and where you can also do many things your doing with a laptop, however, the fundamental disadvantage of the iPhone ,or for that matter, any 'smart' phone is that the screen will NEVER be as big as a laptops screen as well as the 'keypad'. Also when it comes to 'smart' phones there are even cheaper but even more feature-rich, more powerful, prettier, alternatives to the iPhone. So laptop vs. iPhone? For me, laptop(for same price as an iPhone) wins hands down. (Actually, I'd take the iPhone coz I already have a laptop but I have no 'smart' phone) ^_^ so in the end it can also depend on what you have and don't have...

I prefer Laptop to Iphone.
As I find it easy to get all the applications and stuffs for laptop.
I have a craze for the display size.Laptops come with all the features stuffed in it which you find in iphone that are needed for your purpose.

I would choose a laptop over an iphone. you can watch a good movie in a laptop and do many other important stuff with much convenience because it is not too small. It is also more practical. And yes I agree that laptops are smarter. I love my lappy!! :)

Laptop of course. It is very easy to manipulate and you can go around www in no time at all. iPhone is quite complicated to operate and you must have a cat eye to read and understand the whole thing in that small screen. If you have a problem with phoning a friend, you can always have an ordinary cellphone that works wonder too.

iPhone are quite expensive and if compare to a laptop you could to more task in laptop than iphone the only difference is that iPhone are more handy compare to laptop but in buying always look for greater benefits and not in brand name or size.

I think I would rather have an iphone because I could take it anywhere with me! I've already got a laptop so that would be an edition to my collection!!
